I don't want to worship or feel guilty about not worshipping a god that loves blood, fat, and forskins for his evening meals.I'm wasn't trying to look at all the negative. But the negative kept jumping out at me! It certainly does appear that the god of Genesis had a jealous, short temper. Thanks for letting me vent last night .....enjoy the evideo!

Oh, and I mentioned the "Abraham throwing Isaac a birthday party".....to which my sister said 'was weaning done every year?'...."No, I think it was a one time thing".... She responded, "because throwing a party for someone's accomplishments is fine. It might have not been a birthday party, but a party to celebrate his weaning". DoH! I wish my brain was faster....I just realized that I should've said that being weaned is not necessarily an accomplishment on the child's part. It's something the parents choose for their child. But I did say, "is it possible that EVERYBODY celebrated their birthdays so it wasnt really something important to put in the Bible over and over, kinda like how they dont tell you how many times you need to eat everyday?" I felt the air get a little tense at that point so I changed the subject & all was good . I think.

Oh, and the "Birthday" revelation idea...I didn't come up with that one on my own. Some other brilliant mind did...

P.S....what does Genesis 5:24 mean when it says Enoch was no more, that "god took him"? I thought god didnt take people.

....what the heck have I gotten myself into . Its something me & my jw sis are doing together...but separately. In our own private time. She gave me this list that you're s'posed to write the date you read each section, about 3-4 chapters each night. I slacked for the past 3 days (not gonna tell her that)...now I'm up to Genenis 28. HoLY CRAP...am I missing something??! The whole friggen thing shows God as a little brat (please god do not strike me with thunder for saying that ). He kept killing people! Its so weird to imagine the the 2nd set of people had a feud & one murdered the other. Was sin that quick? Cain killed Abel out of jealousy...it doesnt seem true. Lot's wife peeked back & was turned to salt...then his 2 daughters did the dirty deed with him while serving him wine so they could make babies. I am sincerely doing this believe it or not. I don't believe the Bible (duh, obviously)...but I have never read it & kinda feel like a hypocrite. My husband said there's a way to read it, not cover to cover, but starting from 'start to finish'...does that make sense? Am I supposed to find a different book of the bible to start at?

i was just wondering, were you, at one point, on the jw side & had a non-jw family member do what steven hassan suggests?

Most annoying and irritating comments by JWs

since i'm still suffering in this crackerjacks organization, these are some of statements that just drive me nuts.

1. in service: "we are not here to convert you" funny how jws have the true religion but resort to deception and outright lies in order to get people to listen

2. to other jws: "we won't have to deal with this in the new system" 7 billion evil doers dead and gone, no longer create problems for us

I've recently finished Steven Hassan's RELEASING THE BONDS...will probably read it again. I was just wondering, were you, at one point, on the jw side & had a non-jw family member do what Steven Hassan suggests? Did it work? It seems a lot of you left for other reasons, like seeing the lack of love with your own eyes. Or experiencing the hypocrisy firsthand. But can you look back and see what your loved ones said to make you doubt?

Don't You Hate It When A Witness Says "We Miss You At Meetings?"

don't you hate the hypocrisy when you run into a witness you haven't seen in over 5 years (even thought they live less than five miles away in the same town) and they say, "we miss you at the meetings?

" they can't call or stop bye to say hello, but they miss me at the meetings.

After dropping by unannounced twice after being requested not to (as I was out the door for a legitimate, serious appointment), the elders said they couldn't call because they didn't have my phone number which was We've had the same problem! An elder still has the hopes of getting my husband back & kept dropping by. I was very nice to him and said its the proper thing to do to call first and handed him my number and my husband's number. He agreed completely. A few weeks later, we come home and there's some info & note left at our front door from him with some more "inspirational" messages. Grrrrrr.

You know what I also hate??? How they call their bible studies "friends" now. I will never get used to that. Its the weirdest thing & when I was still "in"...there were numerous talks about how we shouldn't call ANYONE but true jw's friends. (I'd come home from school and say 'my friend Meredith gave me this tshirt 2day!'...and dad would be like 'Tsk, Tsk....your WHAT?!' & I'd have to say 'oh sorry. My Associate Meredith')

so i assume the back of the territory card was not marked that apostates live at this address.do they still do that?

anyway the first thing i asked her was if she had a back issue of the july 09 awake.

she looked through her bag said she didn't but could get me a copy and bring it back to me.

I say, if you care at all....take this as an opportunity to plant some seeds of doubt in HER head. Is she too old to change? If so, oh well. Sock it to 'em! That's the only jw magazine I've had in my house in years, I'm going to save it forever...I asked my mother for a copy & she had one lying right near her.
