Kurt, I just needed a lill lovin, that's all. i'm used to not gettin it. Part of the former jw's life. Sa'll good. It's a fight to have the self respect needed to feel good.....

My self esteem should be VERY low , considering what my loved ones give.and sometimes, it is. it sucks.

I fight my low self esteem. DeSPITE the fact that I'm ef'fing Beautiful. and i'm ef'fing SMART. and I friggen play along like a dummy so people don't think i'm a dumbass idiot. I'm about at that point. I'M OVER IT. i'M ABOUT TO EF'FING DA MYSELF. I'm about over people telling me who i should ef'fing be.. I'm over it. I'm better than that. And don't think just because someb0dy doesn't state where I stand, it doesn't mean I don't have guts. i care more than anything and anyone about my family. I'm done wth people taking advantage of me. Not you. but people in my real life. I'm over it. I don't need you to tell me that I'm a f*cking loser....You're not the first one. I'm used to it. I'm used to my jw elders telling me that i am rebellious. that i've never read the bible. that I dont' know what the TRUTH is. I'm over it. I'm an f*ing awesome person.

I just spent a night with people who know what unconditional love means. The hostess introduced me as : Homeschool. She is NOT a jehovah's witness. (she didn't mean for that to come out that way)...That was the funniest conversation-breaker.

as a sidenote, in genesis 21....abraham threw isaac a party on the day he was weaned.

check out the history on that and find out what other religions believe about that (i checked out the jewish & baptist websites).

Thanks Monkey. Narkissos, with all due respect... it just feels to me like the bible was written by men & not by god (at this point of my reading, anyway. ) Let's say it was the common practice with the bride price stuff. We have all sorts of common practices today, but some Christians abstain from anything they perceive as going against god. Right? go with me for a minute... so at the time, did god say that fornication was okay? I always thought god hated fornication, except for when incest was alright to populate the earth? If god truly inspired the bible, I would think he'd make sure to add a sentence such as, "commiting fornication with a virgin is disgusting in my eyes and worth death, but I will tolerate it to prove how evil Satan is".... something to that effect. I dunno. the more I think about it, the more confused I get. Maybe I'll just stop thinking and check out the Monkey's Lego pictures.

If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

What I was told recently is that, in those days, there was a 'bride price', and that if a woman had sex before she was married, her price would be diminished (I thought the Israelites were god's chosen people...? Wouldn't they understand the girl was taken advantage of and that it wasn't her fault?).

I find it tough to believe that god almighty had NO problem condemning people to death for very minor things in Exodus, and he supposedly HATES fornication....

But he's like "aWrighty, if her dad doesn't want her to marry you, just fork over the money & all will be cool".

Sounds to me like there were mushrooms or extacy involded there. That is very weird. It's also weird that the WT index doesn't explain it. And not to hijack this thread, but ya wanna know what else the WT Library doesn't explain? Exodus 22:17.
