personally i don't have a problem with it but i'm just wondering , what would be the drawbacks for the normal, law abiding citizen?.

Farkel, the reason I say I don't have a problem with it is that it would only replace what means of control they already have, ie:driver's licenses, id cards etc. It wouldn't be any different, when they find a way to shut you off, they shut you off and usually there's not much you can do about it.

On the other hand, it would make filling out forms easier, buying and paying bills. I spent 45 minutes the other day helping a neighbor apply for a rent tax refund online. I can just image how long it would've taken her had I not been there. How much time have you wasted throughout the years filling the blanks with the same info over and over. It annoys the hell our of me. In this day and age of technology I still have to start over everytime, c'mon. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

It could help solve murders, find victims faster, track criminals, etc. It would be a felony to tamper with it or remove it. I understand the privacy issue, but really, do we really have privacy now without it?

frankiespeakin, I say I have no problem with it, but I would definitely wait till the last minute to get one.

Keyser. I'm not sure what my question is..lol. But I think I would like to know, is if you did accept it what would still be some negative aspects of living with it? If you don't plan on committing any crime, what's the problem whith having one?

Maybe one of the reasons would be of security. To track criminals and possible troublemakers. What if they would confiscate all your assets if you did not comply. In other words, no monetary units for food, etc. Set up to starve without it. Anyone who is caught helping you is also a criminal.

would there be any reason for you to attend another church?

i don't mean go back to a kingdom hall, i mean other religons any of them.

can anybody think of a reason that they might do this?.

i', begining to feel curious about the church up my road, just curious, thought about popping in there one sunday, i will probably run out screaming 5 mins later but there you are....

I've been to other churches and they were all a bunch of pretentious a$$holes like the ones in the watchtower. I've got all the reasons I need not to go.

the unthinkable....college!?!

i'm 30-something, newly out of the org.

my spouse is also on the way out.. both of us were raised in "the truth"....aka no college education.

we have 2 small children, soon to be 3. we both want to go back to school.

I would do it. I'm over fifty and going for it. It's something I should have done when I was young. I'm trying to convince my son who was raised a witness to do it also but its so ingrained that he doesn't need one to survive in this world that he thinks all will be rosy. I found out late in life that you can't go without a degree, especially if you want to get paid decent wages.

There are plenty of public universities, with cheaper tuition fees, in all states. Many times they offer online classes through the normal degree programs. Online courses are becoming more popular and universities don't have a choice to follow suit. Many times I discuss with the professor to see if he requires attendance. This semester I have two online classes, and the two other are regular classes (they have streaming video of the class material) so I have arranged with the professors to only show up for the tests. Not all will agree to this, depending on the material, but I've found most professors willing to work on the issue.

Good luck, make the decision, you won't regret it later, trust me.
