So I overheard a discussion that my son and wife were having about creation yesterday

so i am getting ready for bed yesterday night and i overhear my teenage son and wife talking about how the evidence of creation far outweighs the evidence of evolution.

i heard my son say that evolution has so many holes and how could something happen from nothing.

i wanted to open the door and ask them both how the creator happened from nothing just to see what they would say..

And that's why you should stay out of it unless you discuss it with her first. If someone tried that behind my back backstabbing bullshit that you're talking about with one of my child, I'd kick your ass to the curb. You'd be out of my life that's a fact.

I'm an atheist and believe we are constantly evolving, so that's not the point.

It's not about the subject matter, it's about crossing boundaries. It's none of your business unless the mother says so.

Looking for ideas.

i received an email from one of the elder in the local congregation.

i am not dfed so there is not a problem there, i am just an aggressive fader.. one of the last things i said to this elder before i stopped all activities was that i do not agree with the borg taking all the assets from the congregations.. here is what the elder said in the email:.

"i recently saw something while looking through the jw broadcasting for the month of may and i though about you.

If this elder thinks that the May video is an adequate answer to your concerns over financial matters, then you are jeopardizing your fade if you pursue this any further. The video is proof that their intentions are to fleece the flock and this man obviously doesn't see this and is a company man. So like someone said earlier, you better stfu.

Spiritual AMNESTY -- Return to Jehovah

basically, from what i can tell from the new return to jehovah brochure, is that the governing body is now offering amnesty to anyone who has been gone from the congregation but now wants to return.. it claims it doesn't matter what sins you've done, or what caused you to leave, if you repent to jehovah and ask the elders to help you, and return to the meetings, you'll be warmly welcomed with no disciplinary action or judgment against you..

elder: We sure are, it's new light, aren't the brothers in New York a loving group?

me: I guess so...

me: You mean I can talk to family and friends now?

elder: Absolutely, after you've been to the meetings for at least six months, then we lovingly file the paperwork. It's that easy.

Are You a 607 BCE Specialist?

hi guys & gals,.

we're currently preparing for the season finale of the show (to be recorded on sunday, may 24th at 2pm eastern time nyc / 6pm uk time / 4am sydney time.. as we're going to (finally) be covering 607 bce in detail, we're looking for a specialist (or two) that can come on the show and tell everyone about this almighty doctrine.

Rumor about the Imitate Jesus Convention

i saw a rumor a few weeks ago on reddit that the new imitate jesus convention is supposed to present new light and clarified understandings on the disfellowshipping/disassociation practices.. supposedly, if this rumor has any truth to it, there will be a talk given at the convention about how we should not be strict like the pharisees in how we shun people, loosening up some of the jw rules about this practice.. has anyone here heard anything about this or have more info on it?.

I think they might want to bank (pun intended) on the fact that many who have left are somewhat smarter and better paid than the ones still in. So yes, it's about the money if they do.
