I think many are miserable and need to blame someone for their failed dreams. Why not the WT. Every religious organization has flaws and imperfect people. THe WT just does not admit mistakes, so that makes it harder to digest.

Has anyone got anything positive from the WT organisation?
by BloominMarvellous ineveryone seems to just hate the wt.. i am very upset with the way ive been treated but i dont hate them.. they have given me huge self confidence after helping me out of depression, although i have a fab counsellor, so they cant get all the credit.
they have made me independent as well, (i think my ex-study conductor regrets that!
) i suddenly have a mind of my own and am not afraid to use it.. i owe them quite a lot they have really helped me through some bad times but they have created some bad times for me too.

I do not hate the WT. IMO, they are just like any other religious organization. There are errors and mistakes and flaws and...... IMPERFECT PEOPLE!!
I was raised in a very middle-class family in South Los Angeles. I have become an outstanding speaker. I have recieved many accolades regarding my entire skill set. They have helped me to advance within my career, to the point of making corporate videos.
I must say, I owe some of my ability to the WT. Going door-to-door, taking to crips, Bloods and drug-dealers....fearlessly!!!!

I met Firpo. He went to a hall in Lynwood, CA I believe. We went for pizza with his family. He was a typical, black JW. IMO. That means; Very well versed in the theology, outstanding speaker and slightly arrogant.
He later married a younger sister from my hall in Inglewood.
I did not know he would have bigger things in his future.

I went to the KH after a few years away once before and IT WAS INCREDIBLE.
- It was like I had never left. I could quote all of the scriptures in the WT.
- Topics that never go away are;
- We are sooo close to the end.
- Those that miss meetings are materialistic. Put the org. I mean kingdom first.
- Satan uses the same traps to catch the weak again and again.
- Apostates are bad.
- Sex is bad, because the world glorifies it.
- Remember the end is close.
- Drinking is bad.
- Facebook is bad. My space is evil.
- The internet is bad.
- The end is sooo close, we can tell because_______________. Fill in the blank.
- College is bad.
- The (college educated) brothers in Africa are woried about u because of your materialism.

As for SOUTHCENTRAL, I never said I thought the end would come in 2012.
Understood!! I was speaking in GENERAL, not specifically about you. I enjoyed your post.
Being a conservative, ALL I hear in my circles is how OBAMA is the anti-christ, hence the remark.

If I am correct, at the end of the Mayan calendar, it would reset. Is this not similar to our calendar on December 31st every year??
Also, Is it NOT true that we would NOT know the day and hour of the end? December 21, 2012 is widely known as a possible end of world date.
I think the polar caps switching polarity may be more significant than any end of time speculation. Our sun will be at the center of the Milky way, which happens once every 26k years or so. Considering the possible age (several billion years) of our universe, this may be considered a frequent occurence.
The thought of Obama being the anti-christ is truly incredible to me. He being the savior???? It is hard to perform worse than the last administration. I say this as a ultra-conserative.
I do not agree completely with the path forward, but it is agressive and very pro-active. Stem-cells reasearch IMO is GREAT..........Ending a war that should have NEVER been started, INCREDIBLE!!
Many people are enamored with him because of his speaking ability. ..again, the last individual has a best of tape hich has many oratorical mishaps. I can think of MANY elders that could give great speaches without a teleprompter. Actually more powerfull and commanding.
Anti-christ?? The very thought IMO is mindless. (but that is just MY OPINION)

"We missed you at the meeting"
by tresdecu ini have grown to hate this statement with a a passion.
as an ms i vowed never to say it, because it never really sounded caring.
it was just a subtle guilt trip.. anyway...my reason for starting this thread is that a 'bible study' i know, (who i am aquianted with other than him being a b.s.

Someone told me that once. They said, "Brother, I have NOT see you in a while". I looked him dead in the eye with a smile and said, "Brother, I have NOT seen you either!!" He later apologized for not visiting, I laughed and commended him for his sincere Christian LOVE and genuine concern for me. He just cowered his head down and left. I commented in the WT study 3 times, only to disappear for about 4 years. He still tells my wife about those comments.
Of course none of it is sincere. Most J-Dubs that I know participate for the social aspects of the religion.
I will start going again soon (for my children and wife) and I have already prepared my answers. Dear Brother, "I have Not seen you in a long time".......I had to wait until my ear-ring holes closed.

Witness 007 returns to wife and meetings..I give up! Sorry no choice!
by Witness 007 inmy wife's been having mental problems since hurting her back at work...we split for 8 weeks {her doing} then she rings me and says she "can't cope and is lonely" so i return {the drama continues} she seems more stable, sleeping all night...what a change!
her mood had become alittle more stable.
she found a part time job, and has not been dragged off by security like her last job...much improved though she dropped 10 kilos in weight.

I am going back as well after being away for several years. My children need the discipline and this is and religion is an excellent way for them to get it. My NOT going has actually stiffiled my family's growth. I know of the false teachings, but I accept the lies :-)

It Seems More Witnesses are Exiting Since 1995 - From Your Responses
by flipper ini started a thread last week about when each of you exited the jehovah's witness cult.
i received about 41 responses from different people on the board and the years they exited the witnesses.
i went back and analyzed the dates you gave me and it was apparent from your replies that 25 of you left between 1998 and 2009 a period of about the last 10 years.

Many J-Dubs are realizing that they willl die in this system. This is a truly a foreign idea prior to 1995. The 15-year plus crowd are tired of the burdensome yoke of the org. Many live a double-life or just leave.
