I knew a witness that had a condition called TMAU (trimethylmaneria??). It caused him to have a bad body odor despite bathing several times per day. The brother said how critical it was to bathe or the odor would be worse.

Bathing Daily Doesn’t Help The Planet
by minimus inthe new york times as well as other news agencies are reporting that in order to help save the planet we should limit our daily bathing.
they say daily bathing really because popular in the 20th century because elites decided to impress and use petroleum based soaps and take advantage of their indoor plumbing.
a lot of this daily bathing ritual was just for show.

Who was it who ''rescued'', or ''saved'' you?
by Beth Sarim infrom the borg?.
i point to none other than cal lehman and the towerwatch ministries.
towewatch.com.. the years following the collapse of the ussr and the 1995 generation left a bad taste in my mouth for a long time.

About 30 years ago I was a passenger in the car and someone at Dodger Stadium had a sign that referenced a WT/awake in 1968 talking about 1975. About 10 years after this point; I actually went to the Bound volumes in a kingdom hall and read the article mentioned above. It was very enlightening. Later I read “Crisis of Conscious” which helped the most! It literally pulled the curtain back on the wizard. “ In search of Christian freedom” and several evil apostate pages helped me. I remember the change engine the generation teaching… That was also a defining moment that helped me redefined my life.

What Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Like Nowadays?
by minimus ini’ve been gone a long time.
after my mother passed away a few years ago, i pretty much lost most contact with the witnesses.
a couple that were family friends for many years stopped checking on me to say hello.

Great question! I actually wonder this as well.
I left kingdom halls with people that I actually liked about 20 years ago. Unfortunately, I have not been able to connect or make any real friends in the organization since the mid-1990s. It’s been miserable ever since.
Many of my close friends that I grew up with parents’ are now dying. I have been invited to two funerals in the last year. The one that I went to on zoom had about 300 callers and was extremely organized. It was a wonderful experience That I didn’t think was possible on video video chat. Fortunately, I can’t imagine having parts on the meeting like the zoom call. People seem to be more concerned with what everyone’s house look like… Which was amusing. After nine months many still cannot use The mute button correctly.

Are there more Bethel layoffs in the immediate future?
by LongHairGal ini just saw a post on reddit: ‘wt are prepping the r&f for changes in the march/april meeting workbook’.. in the post the person noted what they read (for march 8) and it mentioned bethel adjustments and reference was made to 2015 when bethelites were let go.. if this happens (yet again) another bunch of people are being sent home to fend for themselves in the big bad world at an advanced age with little to no preparation.
even though this doesn’t surprise me, it could not come at a worse time with a global pandemic and massive job loss everywhere..congregations are already in turmoil because of so many who reached retirement age totally unprepared because they were told armageddon would be here before they reached that age.
this is in addition to all the other ‘needy’ and troubled types in the congregations looking for as$istance.. i hope any bethelites there have a plan and some people they can contact.

This is also happening in corporate America. I was laid off by a text message after working for a giant company for 30 years. I am regularly seeing openings for trainees at my former location.
I can only imagine how the Beth elites feel, I am extremely bitter!
My family no longer has life, medical, vision or dental insurance.

Witness reaching out to me after 20+ years...
by SouthCentral ina few weeks ago; a witness couple from the midwest reached out to me after 25+ years.
they said they were doing a letter writing campaign and decided to reach out to me… they called on my personal cell phone, which was a little surprising.
a few days ago, a couple that i knew from over 40 years ago, sent me a text, again to my personal cell phone.. i assume that they just googled my name to get the personal info.

OK… I was able to find out what happened. It’s the letter writing… And people are very bored! Someone reached out to my wife and they mentioned that to her.
There is an app that they all use and it’s just like a Google search! Again, thanks for sharing your stories!

What Is The Position Of Witnesses For People Who Are Inactive And Don’t Want To Be Bothered By Anyone?
by minimus ini used to have some close friends simply pay me a friendly visit or call to see how i was doing.. i am curious as to whether or not the society instructed witnesses to no longer check on inactive ones and treat them as marked or disfellowshipped..

When we faded away from our local congregation… We would get a visit BEFORE every circuit overseer‘s visit. Of course, I would just let them count the time and not share my personal beliefs. No emotion and very little dialogue! This made them very angry! To me at the time, it was amusing. Now, we moved our publishers card to a congregation on the other side of town and continue to fade.
We were only contacted once from this distant (10 miles away) congregation.

Thanks for the comments!
Really appreciate this forum where we can share our post-organization experiences.
I too woke up with the generation change in 1995! That really shook up my world. Attended sporadically for many years thereafter…I think it’s been 6 years since I faded. I’ve only attended weddings and a funeral since that time.
The last time we had fires in our area… The elders were insistent that I communicate with them… Which I eventually did by text. Basically told them, if I needed anything I would reach out… Otherwise, don’t bother. This fire season they haven’t reached out at all!
Surprisingly, after I responded to one of the witnesses that recently sent a text… They never responded back! They even asked me quiz questions to ensure that I was the right person…
I have one witness friend that stays in touch… Which is cool! I remained his friend after he cheated on his wife of 25 years. He stayed away from the organization for a while; but now he’s active again. I’m not really a lonely person, but work and home life definitely occupies most of my time. It’s cool when people still seek you out, even though you are not needy!
Sorry if I’m rambling… But again I appreciate the comments!

So What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Do Now?
by minimus inthey don’t go to conventions .
they don’t go to assemblies.
they don’t go to meetings.
-
SouthCentral
A lot of witnesses get dressed up and say they are attending the convention or a zoom meeting. I’ve seen at least 10 people do this. Several have taken pictures showing the family taking notes. So encouraging… LOL
Initially, many would take pictures of the screen for the zoom meeting, but I guess this was discouraged.

Who Do You Think Would Be A Good Running Mate For Joe Biden?
by minimus init seems like the only possibilities are women of color.
no whites need apply.. maybe he will change his mind and ask hillary clinton?
?.

SouthCentral
To Be totally honest… Black people do not like Biden (crime bill) or Kamela (incarceration Rate of black males, allegedly sleeping her way to the top and having a white husband).
But many view trump as the personification of evil; so they will vote for the donkey over the elephant.
