Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

Listener, thank you for sharing your story; it was very touching! Before your father passed away, did he ever say sorry for shunning you?

after 40 years I guess I am being shunned
by Giordano inwell thanks to this site i have come to realize i am being shunned........i think.
i find this really funny because my wife and i were never df or da, and we walked out in the late 1960's.
and no one in the family ever shunned us.. without making too much out of it my niece has not invited us to visit and meet our new nephew.

This is from the Feb 15, 2011 Watchtower page 32:
By cutting off contact with the disfellowshipped
or disassociated one, you are
showing that you hate the attitudes and actions
that led to that outcome. However, you
are also showing that you love the wrongdoer
enough to do what is best for him or
her. Your loyalty to Jehovah may increase
the likelihood that the disciplined one will
repent and return to Jehovah.
19 One individual who was disfellowshipped
and was later reinstated wrote: “I
am happy that Jehovah loves his people
enough to see that his organization is kept
clean. What may seem harsh to outsiders is both necessary and really a loving
thing to do.” -

I really like some of the lines in the film...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1375666/quotes
Cobb: [from trailer] Dreams feel real while we're in them. It's only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange.
Cobb: What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient... highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere.
Cobb: Eventually, She tells me the truth that she was possessed by an idea, just one simple idea that changed everything, that our world wasn't real and in order to get back to the reality, We'll have to kill ourselves.

Got a letter inviting me to my Judicial hearing- should I go?
by hoggieman inhey everyone, my family and i have not gone to meeting in over a year.
rumors have swirled about us, but i have always dodged the elders calls and never said anything about my feelings.
so after a while the calls/visits dwindled, but in october they came by again and saw our halloween decorations.

" so I don’t really care if they DF me. "
hoggieman, looks like you answered the question yourself. I wouldn't dignify their letter with a response. I wouldn't attend any judicial hearing. You obviously are not trying to live your life by going underneath the JW radar, nor should you have to. But you now have to accept the consequences of your new lifestyle choices, that being officially shunned by mind controlled cult zombies. Have no fear, time will prove that you've made the right decision. Somethings in life you have to let go...

Dear friends,
We are saddened to inform you that we learned early this morning at Morning Worship, that Brother John E. Barr, the oldest living member of the Governing Body finished his earthly course this past Saturday. Brother Barr, (known to his friends as "Jack") will be affectionately remembered for his kind and grandfatherly way, his gentle demeanor, and tender compassion. He was born in Scotland, England, and served at the London Bethel and in the traveling work in the early forties, and was transferred to Brooklyn Bethel in the 70's to become a member of the Governing Body. His wife, Mildred, also one of the Lord's own, finished her earthly course in 2004. He was known, not only for his paternal manner, but also for his keen mind and ability to crisply communicate important spiritual truths in a captivating way. In the final weeks before his death, when his health had deteriorated somewhat, he must have sensed that the end of his life was drawing near. He wrote a very touching letter of appreciation to those working under him in the Writing Department and Writing Prepress, conveyed to us by two other members of the Governing Body who went to visit him in during his sickness.
His passing in a way signifies a generational shift with regard to the Governing Body. Brother Barr was the last living member of the Governing Body directly associated with events taking place early in the ' Lord's Day ." (Revelation 1:10) Other members of the Governing Body now serving generally constitute an 'overlapping generation' of Christ's brothers. As with the passing of theocratic responsibilities from Moses to Joshua or from Elijah to Elisha, we fully anticipate the undeterrred and unabated forward movement and acceleration of theocratic developments in these final moments of the Last Days, even as the system of things is very observably in its death throes.
While there is no doubt that those of us who knew and dearly loved Brother Barr, as one 'so like the Lord' in his manner, we rejoice with him in his attainment to increased responsibilities. We are completely confident that 'his works go right with him.' (Revelation 14:13). -

Just to give you a little background about myself, I was a born-in, I'm in my late 20's now, I faded away a few years ago after researching the history of the WTBS on the internet. My fade was aided by moving away with my job(I definately feel lucky about that). Eventually, I had discussions with a couple of my closer jw friends about why I no longer believed in the WTBS. They both asked cliche question, "where else is there to go?". That of course is a thread on its own. My question I asked my friends (both close to me in age, late 20s/early 30s)was do you believe armageddon will come within the next 30 years? One of my friends has been living off and on in a foreign country "serving where the need is greater" for the past 4-5 years, they receive a lot of financial support from their parents. This person said they definately believe armageddon will come within the next 30 years. My other friend went to university and has a career. They conceded that they could quite possibly grow old and die, but regardless of this, "the end" will come, and "serving jehovah" is the most important thing, not when "the end" will come. There you have it, two different JWs, and two different perspectives of the future. Of the JWs you know which do you think is the more prevailing view?
For me personally, having been raised to believe I would never die, I now believe I will die one day, whether it be from old age, sickness, or an untimely accident. I'm okay with that. Don't get me wrong though, I am afraid of dying young. I feel it is a priveledge to be fortunate enough to live a long life. But I do feel much more healthier for having my current view of life and death...
