i haven't been on here much lately, but i read barb anderson's report on the court case in california the other day.

nice to see the borg finally getting what they deserve.. anyway, the daily mail has done a story about it and at the end you can give your comments.

i think there are a number of 'faithful witlesses' on there who are giving the "thumbs down" to any negative comments about the borg, including mine.

A "reduction of rules" is it the only way the WTBS can eliminate culpability?

how best can the wtbs alter it's rules or eliminate "enforcement" by making everything a "conscience matter"?.

I wouldn't say reduction of rules but change of rules. Instead of being a conscious matter they should divide problems within congs into sins and crimes. It's one thing if a member sleeps with another man's wife and something totally different if he rapes her. WTS should force alleged crimes to be reported to the authorities to deal with. If there is a known pedophile within the ranks that has served his time and if the law allows for the individual to be named, they should make that announcement. If there is a law against such announcements, they could possibly state something to the effect that there is a pedophile within the congregation without naming names. These individuals shouldn't be allowed to go from h2h for a simple reason that they are danger to the public.

WTS has a problem stating that pedos can't go from h2h because after all, if they don't have to why can't johhny suckup simply stay home and be considered a member in good standing? If Bro suckup doesn't have to go out, why do I have to? This will quickly take active dubs into becoming inactive rather quickly. If they become inactive, who knows what these people may do with all that extra time. Will they enjoy more of their life or will these people with extra time on their hands began to look at sites like this one? WTS is about control, you lose control, you lose members.

WTS is a cult, and they want to control every aspect of people's lives, and that includes secrecy. WTS needs major changes to how they treat crimes but instead what they appear to be doing is making a distinction between wts and individual jws by making it appear that jws aren't wts' agents. This is another stupid move and I doubt that courts will buy into this nonsense as they continue to protect criminals. Another problem might be is if they have a large list of pedophiles in Crooklyn, and they change the policy what will they do? Will they start naming names after they knew of these members for years? How will r&f view this? We're not talking about brain dead dubs who will stick with wts no matter what they do and call victims evil who will soon be killed by god, but rather captives of concept who believe wts. Announcements of this sort would rock the congregations and create divisions - wts does not want this.

IMO wts will continue to protect criminals as far as the law allows them, that's why they need more law suits against them, they need more publicity and they need to be kept under pressure from the authorities to change their policies or pay for their actions.

Does anyone have a pedophile policy timeline?

i was talking to a close relative about the case, and they brought up the fact that they thought the society had changed many of ther policies on molestation long ago.

i am curious about the policy change that made it so molesters could not become elders anymore.

i am sure there are many others that i am unaware of, but i think a timeline would actually show current jws how slow the organization was to act.. thanks in advance for any help..

i am curious about the policy change that made it so molesters could not become elders anymore.

there's a good chance that candace will join in, but that's not set in stone.

the host of the program, rick, told me to tell everybody that he is learning how to calm down and to do better on these conference calls.

I agree with Flipper, this is the only way to get wts and help the victims. With one big victory against large corporation other lowly victims might be more willing to step up. Hopefully in the future, the lawsuits request the pedo list from the wts to see how many of those horrible people the cult has been protecting and for how long.

With a strike against wts, we'll also have to watch how the lawyers and accountants change their strategy with regards to liabilities and assets that wts entities hold. If wts NY doesn't have that much in assets but PA may, there might be a shift into another arm of wts where courts may not be able to touch them due to some legal loophole.

Really what stupid dubs have to say is really, irrelevant. There are still normal people trapped in the cult who are worth saving, but there are a lot of morons that can go down with the ship and I wouldn't give a rats ass. All these fools who blame the victim and support their pedophile brother deserve to be in a cult. Fuck them and fuck their persecution complex. What matter is that this case may help victims come forth, stand up to the oppressor knowing they're not alone. This story may show the public that JWs aren't so innocent, and this case may help some studies to look deeper into the cult. What mentally retarded dubs think and say is really not important as it just infuriates the general public. Only good thing about stupid dubs posting ignorant comments how the Candace and rest will soon be destroyed by God is that the world will see these idiots for what they are, nut jobs and maybe more will slam the door in their faces.

It's funny how quickly people forget how Rick is and are ready to forget. Didn't he try this sort of thing before? Bring on one decent guest on his call and then you end up with Johnny The Bullshitite for next 6 months. Or a man who supposedly lost a wife to the cult... One real personality on his show doesn't change how Rick acts nor does it change who he is. If wts, apologized I doubt I would be running back to embrace it. There are crazies in wts and there are ones on the outside as well. Even a crazy has his moment.

the society will try to paint this as an isolated case and that it is in no way related to their policies.
