Watchtower Online Library

hey, did you guys know the wts has there library on line.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/h/r1/lp-e. it only goes back to the year 2000 though.

anyone know any funny quotes to look up?

i wanna see if they did some editing..

While at this point there is no proof they've changed anything on their cd-rom library we cannot assume they will change things on their online library either. It doesn't mean they won't "update" their publications as has been done with Revelation book and few others which does amount to changing the original thought but these changes weren't covert. They did however change few instances in their bound volumes from original watchtower study articles in the past when dealing with end dates occurring prior to year 2000 which on the other hand haven't been announced to general r&f.

One doesn't need to save hard copies of their crap as it would take up too much shelf space, but simply dl their pdfs and compare anything down the road if you need to.

Find an interest, join a club, hell, go to another church to meet real people. Anything is better to going back to a cult to find only conditional friends who will shun you as you try to re-enter they ranks and will shun you once you stop being regular. If you go to a larger church at least you'll have a greater veriaty of people to meet instead talking to drones who for most part have no real lives and interests of their own.

It may take 6-12 months to get reinstates, which means you need to attend BS meetings for this length of time, and be regular at recruiting -is this really worth the trouble? Once you get re-instated the so called friends who shunned you for a long time may continue to shun you if you stop all the meetings the day you get reinstated, so really is it worth wasting more of you life trying to accomplish something that may produce nothing but frustration?

The "Secrecy Policy

i've given this recent lawsuit quite a bit of thought and come to sound conclusions.

after examining other organization's child-protection policies (namely churches), what i've come to realize is there's a one-size fits all solution that's socially acceptable; all information obtained through witnesses and confessions by organizational personnel is be used to aid and abet law-enforcement.

there's no in-between or anything short of this objective that's socially acceptable.

JWs are conditioned (programmed) to first approach the elders, elders in turn are told to contact wts legal department and go from there. There is no fucking excuse for elder to contact wts FIRST when he learns of a crime against humanity, be it rape murder or child abuse. Elders have no training to do any sort of investigation let alone decide if the individual is safe to be in the midst of the congregation without proper investigation.

People should stop excusing the cult and get their heads out of their ass and see it for what it is. On one hand wts tells the public they have an aggressive policy regards to child abuse and then they say that if the accused denies the allegation and there is no two witnesses they can't do anything about it. These assholes don't need to do anything more then pickup the bloody phone and call the authorities and wait for their investigation and then decide whether to df or not the individual at that point. But this would cause the problem in that if individual was found guilty by the authorities he would be named a JW pedophile while if they can df before that takes place they can say he was df and wasn't a JW so really JW congregations are clean of these sort of men.

People can argue that laws were different at the time, or this and that, but the bottom line is that morally sound leaders would have made the right call and if the police didn't do anything about it then if cases surface later in time, the organization could have pointed to the fact that the authorities were called and didn't do anything about it. Here were have a reactive organization after the fact trying to cover their ass, and not only that they make it statements that the authorities are notified in the states where it's the law for them crime to be reported but what about the states, provinces or countries where the law doesn't require reporting? I guess they aren't under a moral obligation to report it! This goes for wife abuse or any other crime.

what you and other wts apologists fail to recognize is the limited scope of "expertise" that elders and/or religious leaders have or should be permitted to have.

elders are allowed "freedom" to exercise authority as it relates to spiritual issues for their adherents.

religious freedom allows for adherents to seek spiritual assistance from "qualified" ministers who they look to as spiritual leaders.

Apologist and jws don't get it. Actually apologists are worse than typical jws because most jws are in a dark when it comes to their history and facts about elders procedures and such and typical jws make stupid remarks that are just idiotic. Apologists, for most part have the information in front of them but are so delusional that they can't take facts for what they are and need to go and twist the reality to fit their own fantasy.

As Jeremiah said, there is a distinction between sin and crime and the two cannot be treated the same by untrained elders, there is a reason why it takes several years of higher education to gain the basic knowledge before practice comes into play for many professionals. Reading Awake just doesn't cut it and until these knobs get it, they should continue to get sued.

DF believers should be viewed on the same level as jws until they are willing to learn and research about wts. Until, df/da/inactive believers take the step of learning TATT there is a high probability of them returning to the cult at some point in their life.

Should go there and get unbaptized, wear a white t-shirt with apostate in black on the inside so when one gets dipped and comes out from underneath the water the "apostate" shows through the white t-shirt :) that would be kind of funny to see the look on the dubs

Real Estate questions

i couldn't decide which section best fit this - so decided to put it here.

i apologize if i am wrong.. .

i am hoping to get information / advice from someone on here that is a real estate guru.. i own a small piece of land in the hill country.

They can represent both parties but depends on the state laws, but I would advise against using the same agent who is representing the other party involved, in fact I wouldn't advise using an agent that shares an office with the other agent (if possible).

Get them to pull up info for you for how much similar properties sold for in the area in the last 6 months. Sometimes a good deal isn't all that good, and sometimes it gives you an idea what the selling price was relative to the asking price. The differences are good to know as it gives you a better bargaining advantage as to the asking prices. Some places post homes quite higher above the actual expected sale price, this is done in case someone doesn't know any better and pays the higher rate, out of area (state) people get suckered like that

Remember, location location location, just because property is large and seems like a good deal it doesn't mean it is worth it, make the agent work for you, they make a nice profit off each sale so might as well get them print off local sales for you so you have something to compare. They have all that info at their fingers, not a big deal for them to do that. Some don't like printing off past sales, if they don't want to, go to another agent if the other will do it.

i am hoping to get information / advice from someone on here that is a real estate guru.. i own a small piece of land in the hill country.

No real estate agent here can help you unless they're from that specific area, who know the local market. If you looked, and seen similar plots of land for more then you already have an answer, in addition your local area real estate agents have sale prices for that specific region which they can show you so you can get a better idea for how much such and such property sold for vs what the asking price was. Again local tax appraisals may not accurately reflect of the real price.

WTF! The best thing for jw kids to do is have no toys, no books and no imagination because any of these can lead to a creative mind and that's obviously what wts doesn't need nor want. With wts' success in the field of education, it's no wonder they've introduced a dumbed down version of their watchtower, I bet that's a hit!
