Likewise birthdays. No one today associates them with superstition but than again there isn't more superstitious people out there than are JWs. Do you not know that he who is faithful in least is faithful in much? Wouldn't that mean that by obeying GB in everything except for joining apostate forum you will not make it to the paradise but will be destroyed at Armageddon? hmm Jews didn't celebrate birthdays and they got their asses kicked in 70CE, would this apply to you debator?

Why doesn't the Russian government put out "smart" propaganda?

it seems that some of the videos against jehovah's witnesses don't seem to attack in the right way.. they misquote and end up with ridiculous sounding incidents about witnesses.. why can't they make truly discrediting videos like those in the u.s. do?.

I'm guessing most of it is because of the Orthodox church and these numbnuts don't know anymore about wts than a typical jw knows about wts. That is why it's important for xjw to backup their stuff when they make a video or make a writeup and not claim fiction like Russell being a mason or a childmolester.

How does one know if Jesus celebrated a birthday or not? Does it say he didn't? It appears that Job did. Bible doesn't say Mary and Joseph celebrated their wedding anniversary and yet witnesses do and they also wear wedding rings which have pagan origins. You don't find anyone in the bible wearing a wedding ring as well so why is that ok today???

WTS has crapload of rules they pulled out of their ass and they force millions to follow their stupidity. Many of us followed these out of ignorance but when we learn the world isn't according to wts we grow up and leave the stupidity behind.

Very sad story of old faithful who finally awoken. I hope Bro.Johnson enjoys his golden years as much as possible now knowing he's been deceived and his youth sucked out of him by the vile wts. Many of us younger ones were lucky to escape the wts' grasp without the same degree of suffering and we only hope many more will wake up before they grow old and finally realize their entire life was a labor in vain for an ideology that's majorly defective.

i've read alot of posts here regarding jw's and freemasonry, and so far i've seen the usual conjecture by non-masons, and a few well written opinions of the inquiring minds among us.. i'm a former jw from texas, and a current freemason in houston.

my question is:.

what specifically does the wts say as far as masonic membership.

I would love to see factual evidence for the above since I haven't seen any facts other than some crazies making shit up. Just because something reminds some conspiracy loon of something doesn't make it so. There are enough of David Icke out there that believe in reptilian nation being behind illuminati and so forth - it doesn't mean it's so. Back in the 1800 masons were popular and many knew of them, especially from where Russell was. Russell's comparing masonic ideas to that of the bible and claiming that the bible is a better one doesn't make Russell a mason nor is there any records to prove of it. Also 13 lines of illuminati doesn't make these lines factual nor creditable by most. Saying that because there was a pyramidology and cross and crown emblem equals to the borg being an illuminati instrument and Russell being a mason is same logic as saying that in 539 Cyrus conquered Babylon and in 537 Jews returned and thus 607BC had to be a date for destruction of Jerusalem thus Jesus returned in 1914. One can make anything believable to others without actually showing any real evidence so unless there is some actual concrete proof for Russell being a mason and WTS being run by illuminati, such posts only make dubs view apostates as whack jobs.

am kind new posting here in this site... but i need some advice i got 4 bible studys i can no longer lie to them as am having lots of doubts whay do i do tell someone else to give them study, just stop going, tell them to look online about jw history, two of them are attending th kh so what you think i should do???

Stop teaching them the lies and maybe point out the truth about the wts or at least cancel the studies as your conscience will bother you later knowing you helped sucker innocent people into the cult knowing that it's not the truth. It may be hard if you have jw family.

is it a bit like pre-1975 with high expectations?.

Rutherford was able to do away with all of Russell's dates. If there is a change they will have to be willing to sacrfice a percantage of the flock for a longer future. If they can successfully beat into dubs that GB and WTS are God's channel and slowly eliminate mentioning dates the majority of the flock will keep loyal to the leaders when the day arrives for the change. Many if not most don't even remember that 1919 is tied to 1914 or how 1914 is arrived without checking wts publications. I can see the 1914 change, maybe not today or next year but could very well take place over the next 20 years as older ones die off and newer ones are steered away from dates but towards the leadership.

They've mentioned 1914 less and less in their publications for the last 10 or so years. Just do a search in the wts cd and you'll see what I mean. The date is in the background just as generation isn't that important anymore, the time is being pushed aside and what I think is set up front is the encouragement of being loyal to GB and WTS. It wouldn't surprise me if they did something to 1914 similar to what Rutherford did. I haven't been the the kh in a while so maybe those still attending can tell us some rumors.....
