just been looking heavily into wt quotes today to see their swings and roundabouts version of 'truth', and i came across this.

bearing in mind that the revelation book has recently had a spruce up and 70 adjustments needed to be added...:.

tech question about password protection and htaccess

just wondering if anybody could help me out,.

i am trying to password protect my base directory (not sure if that is the correct term so i'll try to explain it like this).

basically i have www.example.com and the website i have made is set up at www.website.com/anotherexample.

Basically I have www.example.com and the website I have made is set up at www.website.com/anotherexample

I want to lock down my www.example.com so nobody can see the files, but I want the /anotherexample site to be open to view.

Any ideas?

i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.

i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

it would be very nice to hear some of his talks from the 70s to see how they were different from other gb member talks.

i bet he used bible more than the others.

any ideas where to find some?

But let us not forget that no doubt if somebody had an audio recording of US when WE were in the 'truth', no doubt we would be saying similar things to what Ray said in this talk in 1976; all the old cliche's about the Borg, Jehovah etc. What is important is that all of us, Ray included, upon examining the facts, made a conscious decision to leave.

We were all victims of this mind control, probably even members of the GB to a certain extent.

Ray Franz Passed Away Today

i just received word that ray franz passed away today at 1:37 pm eastern daylight time.

the cause of death is stated as head trauma, likely due to falling to the ground, and a stroke could have also been part of the cause or a result of the fall.

he died at emory university hospital in atlanta about 17 minutes after being taken off life support.

I heard the news last night (very late I know)

I'd just like to add a few words.

Raymond Franz was, to me, one of the most important people in my life, yet I never met him. His book blew away the cobwebs of deceit and the shackles that had tied me down for 20 years. Such a tremendous work cannot be underestimated. I personally believe that Raymond Franz was sent by God to deliver true God fearing slaves out of the Watchtower, and to me, no greater privilege could a man have.

I knew he couldn't have much time left but news of his death affected me last night as all the old emotions of getting his book for the first time and nervously turning the first few pages came flooding back to me. I had not felt like that for 8 years. I'll never forget, in all my days, how Ray Franz helped to deliver me from the Watchtower, through the grace of God.
