it's my 1st time to post here..i'm basically an open-minded person.
so it has always bothered me to think that there is only one true religion.i've always told this to my mom but she thinks otherwise.
i love my mom so much that i would do anything to make her happy but she knows that i have doubts.

i hold beliefs which are against there doctrines and for me a well informed and formed conscience is more powerful than laws imposed by people in religious orgs. the things is that i'm in a dilemma

i thought the name of this thread was so on time for this thread demostrates one of the sad things about claiming to speak for god, when one actually does not.. when i was a newly appointed elder at the tender age of 27 .
i was introduced to the world of the judical committee.. it was in fact my first case.
i had gotten a call from the po before the meeting stating that their would be an elders meetings to discuss some judical matters.
hi jt - i dont know how many times i've said the same thing on this board - ie. the loyalty wtbts defenders would be shown by the wtbts if they were ever found out for posting here
i found your viewpoint on them taking the courage to post here an interesting one though
however it's for this reason - their non cognition of their obvious "lack of faith" - in particular associating with "apostates" on this board AGAINST wtbts policy
that i cannot take their defence of the wtbts seriously

just like the urban legends that we all heard at assemblies, we also read questions from readers in the wts rags...did you guys ever read those while you were still jws and think "oh my god...there is no way that some 8 year old wrote or even said any of this.
" or when you heard at assemblies that we should be soooo thankful because the brothers in africa are walking through gator infested, malarial waters with their children on their backs and their book bags and meeting clothes on their heads, through monsoon rains 74 miles each way to attend their assemblies.
my mother used to say the same thing about cleaning my plate because there were kids in whoknowswhere starving to death.

this morning my nearest and dearest were discussing issues relating to adoption.
a close relative of the family has been turned down as an adoptive parent because he and his wife are too wealthy!.
the adoption people say that it is important that children have some negative input into their lives, apparently not having money worries can be bad for you.. we carried on talking and her ladyship asked me whether jw`s ever adopted children.

i published an article on the local newspaper against the jw and part of my sour experiences while i was a jw; they only let me use 300 words and deleted the most important ones ofcourse.
my problem is that iam now getting very negative responses to my article and i need you all to help me write something positive for us ex-jw's for a change.

I think the problem with christianity
(as I cant speak for any of the others too well - except the I- CHING which is more a philosophy)
is that christians think they have to be christ
NOT themselves
what I call the "lord save me from your followers" syndrome
rather than experience christ/religion AS themselves
an individual rather than a collective experience
and this collective way of religous experience
rather than individual
(for all I know )
may be applicable to all the peoples of the major faiths
experience of their faiths unique prophet/figurehead/godhead/great spirit
as well
