This is kind of sad for the newboys. Despite having my best years sucked away by a cult I still have great memories of NYC, the nightlife, the Brooklyn Brewery, etc. Also the old buildings had a lot of great history, and there was a down to earth feel to 124 and 107. The factory and 360 were both cool buildings. But now you won't get any of that as a newboy. Just 100% cult compound 365 24/7. No sitting on the roof drinking IPA staring at the NYC skyline.

There are so many issues here. For one, if JW’s thought it was medically unsound to take blood they might question their whole belief system. So the reason for the whole ‘it’s not medically safe to take anything related to blood’ speech is that it is a tactic to make them feel ok about following a crazy belief system.
Second they are under MIND CONTROL, yes the Catholic Church is evil but they do not practice mind control to my knowledge.
Slimboy you cannot compare JW’s to Church of Scientology, and Catholics to insist something they do is typical of mainstream religion.
These are cults. Catholics are very cult like too. That would be like me saying serial killers kill people too so it’s ok and normal. Serial killers are not mainstream, we cannot use them as the definition for normal any more than the Catholic church or Mormons. JWs do not have freedoms to decide things. They are told what do decide.

"And how old is the Proclaimers book?"
by passwordprotected ini had a frank discussion with my parents yesterday that ended up in the cul-de-sac of "how did the organisation start?
" i told them that all they need to know about the origins of the org are in the proclaimers book, of how chuck started his own religion, or how he got his ideas from the adventists and a lovely fellow called barbour and how chuck preached that christ had returned in 1874 and that the last days had started in 1799.. my parents were unwilling to accept this, so i said, "read your proclaimers book!
y'know what my mum's answer to that was?.

Wow it's frustrating isn't it. The sad thing is that if it was published yesterday that it wouldn't matter a lick. Which reminds me I would like to call me mother to see how she responded to my letter about Watchtower misquotes. I think in my own mothers case she will prefer to 'not to have had time to look at it'. There really is no limit to what a person under mind control is capable of imagining.

i am 20 minutes away from a sheparding call........
by oompa infirst one in at least 5 years.......wife does not want to sit in and i just told her if she does not, then i am not either.....this loss of faith thingy has really been rough on our marriage.......i have decided to not bring up a single issue i have........i will relate to them my illustration of the taxi driver who keeps giving out bad directions i posted yesterday.......i think what will surprise them maybe is that my loss of faith goes way beyond wt.......i have lost virtually faith in the bible and god......one has already told the "first place to start is to get going to the meetings again!"....lmao!!!.........
i hope their programed brains can grasp that maybe you need faith in a god first.....then find out what method (or book) he is using to educate us if he wants to....and then if you feel the need....look around to find out if there is a group of folks who all have similar beliefs.........this should be interesting...........oompa.

You'll have to let us know how it goes. I rememer feeling the same way when I was trying to fade. Now I would pretty much just bust out on them with the facts. But I understand that if you are still offically in, this may not be the wisest thing to do. Have fun!
