I put this up earlier not realising the guy had died this morning. I have only just found out. I put this up because I was struck by his coldness and lack of genuine concern. It was all business as usual....... He was just up seconds before quoting from the Bible, speaking about God and Jesus...no doubt condemning the world and all that is in it for how bad, immoral and ugly it is, all the while soaking up the admiration and respect of his audience because he is of the 'elite', the Governing Body, and is used by the Holy Spirit to guide them. I wonder how those in the JW audience, who have been abused would have responded if they had heard his answer to the reporter. He was a cold fish! It made me mad watching this today.......hes just a man in a suit....nothing more!

WHEN HE REFUSED BLOOD THEY PROB CHOSE TO LET HIM DIE INSTEAD.
This is the kind of twisted thinking you would expect from a JW. Cant they see that doctors will do all they can to save someones life. The fact that this was a 15yr old boy, (Joshua, from UK), with everything to live for, would make it all the more frustrating for them. JW parents often make the decisions in behalf of their children and refuse to let them have blood. The doctors are powerless when religious grounds are stated as the reason for refusal to accept medical treatment. They know they can be sued if they go against these wishes of the patient. How do outsiders view this? Would it be along the same lines as what Brooke Elizabeth said in her comment ....'that they choose to let them die instead'?
To then go on to say.....THUS THEY REFUSED TO TREAT HIM OUT OF CONVENIENCE TO THEMSELVES AND ARE GUILTY OF HIS DEATH THE SAME AS MURDERERS.
WOW! To turn around and say this about the very people who would do all they could to save this young life but are hindered in doing their job by the JWs insistence on following the teachings of some old men in Brooklyn. Who really is the murderer here? And yes, God will ask for this young mans blood back, but whose door will he be knocking on?

Why do I suddenly get stupid when the elders talk to me
by JWinprotest indoes anyone else have the same problem.
when i'm alone, i am constantly thinking about all the clever things i'm going to say if visited by the elders, but when i actually get confronted, these things never come to mind, and i keep spitting out drivel like some dumb idiot.
after they leave, i rethink the conversation, and i'm furious over all the oppotunities i've missed to put them in their place.......damn it!!!!!

I think you probably still recognise their authority on some level and unconsciously bow to this when they are there with you. I got to the stage where I knew they were nothing more than a couple of men...just guys ....no one special....not better than me. Also, along with that view, I drank a glass of wine or two when I was getting a special visit and I took control of the conversation......they sat and listened politely...and I got to say all I wanted to say.
