1 Thess 4:13 Changed NWT

so instead of just being ignorant and sorrowing about those who have already died, it could be of those who are close to dying as well.
they themselves shouldn't be sorrowing excessively because they have a hope talked about in 14..

Job 14:14 Changed

the changed "all the days of my compulsory service i shall wait," to "all the days of my compulsory labor i shall wait;".
co said the reason according to the writing dept is that if you're doing a service for someone it can be voluntary; you can find joy in doing so.

Funny thing is they don't use the 2006 printing of the NWT on the 2008 WT Library. It is still the 1984 version.

CO said the reason according to the writing dept is that if you're doing a service for someone it can be voluntary; you can find joy in doing so. However Job was toiling through his days, they were laborous; much like what many people go through today. They are not filled with joy, you do just what you can to get by.
Whereas when that "call" from Job 15:15 comes it will not be a laborous time, but a joyous time - when the relief comes.
He said there are other changes too. Something in 1st Thess, but he didn't remember the scripture. I'm going to try and find it.

Generation Change

i'm wondering if they are thinking of changing the belief back to that some annointed alive in 1914 will be alive when the tribulation starts?

I'm wondering if they are thinking of changing the belief back to that some annointed alive in 1914 will be alive when the tribulation starts? If so the "overlapping" could be that there would be original ones from 1914 and ones after time period both alive when it begins.
If this change is the case they would really be pushing urgency that the end would be coming within the next couple years. For someone to be annointed in 1914 they would've had to been born even before that. All those people would be 100+ years old and could only live a few more years.
Also it seems that in recent years they have posted some of this new light in the January 15 WT's. The January 15, 2010 WT should be posted on JW.org tomorrow morning, so I guess we'll see if anything is mentioned.
“Jesus Christ meant lives of the anointed who were on hand in 1914 would overlap with those whose lives of the anointed see the start of the Great Tribulation.” We see the urgency of Jesus’ words. The generation will have a definite end, can’t be excessive long. Many of the anointed both older ones and younger ones have died BUT not all will die before the Great Tribulation.

by garlic81 indo you know if it is stated in any wt publication approximately how many christians they thought were alive in the first century from 33ce onward who had the heavenly calling?.
i found one web-site http://www.mb-soft.com/believe/txx/numberch.htm that estimates the number to be 500,000. does that seem right?
if so the 144,000 number would've been far exceeded back then.

The only explanation could be is that not everyone back then was annointed (if the heavenly calling is still open today). So Jehovah didn't choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on. He would've had to pick and choose here and there to still have space open today.
Based on that thinking some who lived in the first century could have an earthly hope. If they went with this thinking it could let them extend out the time period as well, thinking that there may be sometime before all 144,000 are chosen.

New Age Requirement for MTS
by garlic81 inat our 2 day circuit assembly this weekend they made an announcement for those interested in attending the ministerial training school to meet with the do & co at 9:20 behind the stage this morning.
they said that there is a new revised age requirement, and it is 62 or older.
he again clarified 62 or older, single, and a ministerial servant or an elder.. do you think they feel they've put enough young brothers through the school and now they want old retired individuals who they can send anywhere?

According to the 8/04 km the age requirement was 23 to 50. Perhaps if the requirement was changed it is 26 to 50, so that the brothers they take in will have a little more life experience than a 23 year old...
