The theme for the 2010 District Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses is "Remain Close to Jehovah". This can be verified by looking at the printed edition of the March 1, 2010 Watchtower.

Injuries at Assemblies, who covers the cost
by CaptainSchmideo inwell, i knew it would happen, and i wasn't surprised when it did.. a friend of mine, older brother with a heart condition, was assisting in shoveling snow at the circuit assembly this weekend (suit and tie, no less!
) and slipped on the ice and cracked a couple of his ribs.. what is the likelihood that the circuit or society will assist or cover his medical bills?
any takers on this?.

According to the convention operations manual (which I can't locate a link for right now) I believe an overseer is to immediately contact WT legal dept. Someone from the operations committee should keep following up with a local elder, who should keep checking on the injured as to injuries, etc. (probably to make sure the claims aren't exxagerated, especially in claims of serious injury)
The injured is encouraged to use any available medical insurance they may have. If the injured does not have insurance or it is exhausted they can forward copies of the bills to the elder who can give it to the operations committee who can give it WT legal and they can review for possible payment of actual expenses.
I'm sure no compensation would be provided for lost income, pain and suffering, etc. If you did pursue this I'm sure you'd be looked down on. Any compensation would probably limited to actual medical expenses.

Very interesting as they just bought and installed new presses in Mexico a few years ago. Mexico was even printing some books like the "My book of bible stories." I wonder what happened in Mexico to make them pack it up and move it to Canada?
Also when I had toured NY bethel in July 09 I heard them saying they were selling the 2 older presses at Wallkill and the old ones in Canada and purchasing a brand new MAN Roland press for Canada branch with that money.
Maybe they decided not to pay to buy a new press and will just move the brand new one up from Mexico???

Brazil,
Britain,Japan,Mexico, and SouthAfrica have also received new MAN Roland Lithoman printing presses. Britain was the first branch to install the new machine, which arrived in July 2003 and began production in October. It prints 750,000 magazines a day—1.5 million in a double shift—almost three times that of the former press. -

It means what you get if when you are married to a JW wife and as the husband you don't go in service enough, and take a spiritual lead. Then you don't get anything in the bedroom. How do I know? Because I'm there.

Photo of GB 2006
by Titus inplease, compare this photo with the gb photo in the book "bear thorough witness".
gb2006.
isn't that the same photo?.

It is a different photo. The one in the book was retaken in the same scene. In the book Anthony Morris is wearing a dark suit instead of a silver one.
David Splane is not standing in the back row, he is at the table in front, with a red instead of blue tie.
Stephen Lett is standing closer in from the picture in the book compared to being at the middle of the picture in this photo.

I would like to know where in the audio yearbook that the worldwide report for 2009 is? I've been listening to the yearbook and have not found it in there. If you look at the contents online on jw.org it does not even include the worldwide report.
Your peak number of publishers is contrary to another part of the yearbook and the March 15, 2010 WT study edition that is available online. On page 25 the graph shows the peak publishers for 2009 was 7,313,173. This is also shown in the February 15, 2010 study edition in the graph on page 16 that shows the same amount 7,313,173.
I'd like to know where you found this in the audio yearbook.

The article can be listened to from jw.org. There is more than one question. The first is about rebaptism. This post is in regards to the second question.
The second question talks about living arrangements, and states that it would not be wise for several people to share a house where two members of the opposite sex would would not normally be alone, because others would normally be there, but it could momentarily happen if others were away. I got to thinking what about the missionary homes that are shared by several missionary couples?
Couldn't there be times when momentarily one spouse could be at the house and another missionary of the opposite sex could be there? What if the missionary husband who was an elder had a congregation matter to attend to, and another brothers wife was out on a bible study with a different person in the congregation. Taht could leave the sister of the first elder and the husband of the other wife mentioned home alone...

My group overseer keeps backing out of his appointments to come for it. It's non-urgent until a week before the CO comes. Then there is a mass rush to get it done. Then when the servant he was gonna bring couldn't do it he says well we'll have to do it later.
He scheduled in April before the CO came and then he backed out, he said we'll do it next month.
Didn't hear anything until October when CO was coming again. Made the appointment then called the day before and said "can't do it".
Now he rescheduled again and he calls and says "well i'm going on vacation next week, and "MS" was feeling ill a week back. I don't want to take any chances even though he's feeling better. I'm really sorry about this, we'll have to reschedule. We'll make sure and get this done soon."
Usually it's the pubs trying to avoid the elders. I think he doesn't much wanna do it.
