Hi Tec - I'd have thought it's only problematic if one wants to convince others that one's own revelation is the correct one and that conflicting revelations are wrong.

After 2000 years since JC was executed ,why have we heard not a whisper from GOD ALMIGHTY ?
by smiddy inhe/she had no problem talking to adam and eve ,though they were sinners in his/her sight .throughout the hebrew sriptures, ot, he /she had no problem communicating with fallen man ,imperfect humans , to dictate his will to his subjects by means of prophets , male and female ,according to the bible , the old testament ,the hebrew scriptures , god communicated not once ,not twice ,not even thrice ,but dozens of times during the first 4000 years of human history according to the bible.. why has this god been so silent these past 2000 years ,when their have been atrocities above the scale of anything that has ever been seen these past 6000 years of human existence .. oh you may say that the atrocities were not committed by god they were committed by man.
fair enough .but god intervened in human affairs in such smaller infringements.
with prophets or so the bible says.. the so called apostacy after the last of the apostles , the influence of satan in the world ,( or was that after 1914 ,) and the 2000 year gap when christ was supposed to return ,never mind about all the crap that went before it .. the fact remains we have never heard from god ,any god, or even" a " god, with either his/her approval or disapproval of events good or bad these past 2000 years... smiddy.

The trouble is lots of people are having the same experiences Tec but with different religions. I am certain some followers of Islam, Hinduism, Judaism etc would say exactly the same things you do. Such seeming direct revelations are not peculiar to Christianity.

Is Richard Dawkins giving atheists a bad name?
by slimboyfat inhe just can't seem to stop himself taunting "these muslims" or "some muslim or other".
among his favourite taunts are:.
"all the world's muslims have fewer nobel prizes than trinity college, cambridge.".

It depends who Dawkins is aiming his message at I suppose. Whatever his style, if it prompts people to discuss the subject he is addressing, including both sides of the argument, then it can have a positive outcome. I'm not sure it's a style that will persuade his opponents but then again maybe that isn't his objective.
What is important, and I suspect this is true of debates on most subjects, is not to be persuaded or deterred simply by style, but to try to put this aside and consider the logic of the argument and weight of evidence. It also depends whether we are truly interested in learning from a person's argument, or whether we are simply interested in reinforcing our own beliefs.
Although Dawkins may be having 'a pop' at Islam at the moment, he has railed at Christianity far more extensively in the past.

Was Your Leaving The Witnesses A Very Gradual Process Or A Quick One?
by minimus infor me, it took many years.. even when i would read all the changes over the years from the "truth", i still would ignore it and "wait on jehovah" and try to be a positive force in the congregation.. eventually, i just couldn't take it anymore and resigned as an elder, and slowly but surely made my fade.. what about you?
were you out, in a short or longer time?

Please Share one of your Favourite Quotations
by cofty inhave you ever come across words that resonate with you?
it doesn't have to be a great gem of wisdom, just something that is meaningful to you.. please share, and if you want to, tell us why it's meaningful to you.. here is something that made me nod when i first read it.... .
"fortunate are those who have learned to see, in the wild things of nature, something to be loved, something to be wondered at, something to be reverenced, for they have found the key to a never-failing source of recreation and refreshment".
