Do any other professedly Christian churches do anything similar to the memorial, I mean where nobody actually consumes the emblems? I have a dim recollection that in the catholic church at one point only the priests ate the bread and drank the wine but I may be wrong on that.

Question about the memorial :)
by TimothyT ini have no doubt that in a few weeks when the campaign to spread memorials invites is underway that my good friend, the jw, will give me an invitation.
she has already told me that she would support me when walking in, telling me that i could sit next to her and she wouldnt give a damn what others would think that she was encouraging a disfellowshipped person.
she is very sweet, and i appreciate her thoughts.. however, i would rather not go because i believe the whole thing is done wrong anyway.

I suppose you have probably considered things like st john's wort - a friend of mine had a lot of relief from it, it is herbal but you'd need to check if it was contraindicated with any meds you have and/or your diabetes. I'm sure you'd do that anyway.
I have had great results from acupuncture for some things and not for others. What is there to lose by giving it a go for yourself?

If some kids got molested, the parents should have told the police, it wasnt the watchtower's fault....
by Joliette inaint that about a bitch!!!
when my brother said this to me the other day, i tried my hardest to try to explain why the watchtower's polices on sexaul abuse and molestation in the past, and he said that it was the parents fault (not the watchtowers fault) that these children got molested, and that its the parents job to protect the children.
i tried to tell his thick headed, simple minded self that back in the day parents were threated with disfellowshippment and dissassociation if they reported this to the police.

I don't think I have ever been in places as totally devoid of any kind of 'spirit' or even atmosphere as kingdom halls and assemblies.

The rules in the uk are bonkers. They get upto 1/3 off the sentence they are due (so 2.5 years will be after this reduction) for pleading guilty and usually serve about half actually in jail. So he will be out in 15 months or less.

It may not have been hacked. Some phishing scams seem to use Email addresses stolen from someone else's account then disguise where they are sent from, so I looks like it has been sent from you but actually it could have originated from anyone else who has your email address or shares some of your own email addresses. if you have a decent firewall and antivirus and keep up with the MS updates you can't really do much more, other than change your hotmail account or change to Mac as they do seem to have fewer vulnerabilities.

It can be very difficult to engage in meaningful discussion on topics like this when one of the parties refuses to do any reading on the subject and so removes the opportunity for informed discussion. Some folks seem to like debating issues based on 'cut and paste' and references to the opinions of others. IMHO there is no substitute for reading the research on a subject before forming an opinion and entering into debate surely?
This is perhaps one reason why such discussions go round-and-round and never reach a conclusion.
Oh yeah, and what the hell is 'plasma' in this context?
