Just worn out
by EmptyInside ini thought it best i stay a lurker.
it's just right now, i'm going through some doubts and just plain discouraged.
sometimes, trying to do everything just wears me out, and i feel like i'm suffocating.

Welcome, Emptyinside!! You are not alone in how you feel. It sounds like you're on the right track, volunteering somewhere you find meaningful, having a (non-JW) guy friend. I think the advice to take care of yourself physically is good too, if you're dealing with stress/depression. Get physical, get some kind of exercise every day and eat right.
But aside from that, think long and hard about what you believe and why. This place is a really good resource to double-check some of the assertions that the WT is so vociferous over. Is 607 BC really when Jerusalem was destroyed? Are things really worse now than they've ever been? Is evolution really "just a theory"? Have humans only been on the earth for 6,000 years? Did "several million" Israelites (and others) leave Egypt? There are some fascinating threads here where you can explore some of these questions calmly and reasonably--and find answers that are both authoritative and unexpected. Cheers!!!

Stretching Pierced Ear Holes
by White Dove ini saw three of my friends with extra thick earrings, like the spiral kind that get bigger as they go around, and have since wanted to do my own.
i got 10g tiny but thicker hoops and have just shoved them through enough to put the little doughnut shaped back on.
ouch.

Now you can post your comments on the Watchtower.org website!
by Elsewhere inthe wts was smart enough to not setup a forum on their site.
they knew too much of the truth would come out!.
google has released a simple solution to this little problem: google sidewiki.

I agree with AKJ--please, everybody, control the vitriol on the Sidewiki, or your good intentions will horribly backfire, confirming in all the good JWs mind that the Society was right about apostates!

So do you have to have Sidewiki installed to see what others have posted or only to post yourself?

Do Most Pioneers really Get there time quota?
by xelder indo most pioneers really get there time quota?
over many years, i've known only a handful who were conscientious and actually seemed to work hard and efficiently.. i have long thought that counting time was really stupid.
all on us would kill time inefficiently, but for many years as i served on the service committee, we would review the pioneers activity twice a year.

Out of the "1 billion hours spent preaching annually" the Society is so proud of, I'd reckon no more than 10% is actually spent in conversation with other people - perhaps far less.
I'd say way, way less. I've had recent conversations w/family members who are pioneers and they go like this:
Her: We had a really great morning in service, the sun was out and the territory was so nice!
Me: Any good conversations?
Her: Well, nobody was home the entire morning. But we had a good time anyway.
---
Later, Her: (Other family member) is really enjoying pioneering here. The car groups are so much fun and everybody is so friendly. (Other family member) stayed out in service all day! (Other family member) didn't get home until 5:00!
Me: Wow! Were they getting many people home?
Her: Oh no, nobody home. But (Other family member) had a good time anyway.

Where's Cadellin?
by Cadellin inokay, i was just thinking about that lawn ornament gnome that ends up having its picture taken in all these exotic places and i realized that my poster name is kinda like that.
in how many exotic, far flung places does my poster name appear on someone's computer when he or she checks into jwn to see the latest and thinks to him/herself, "oh, look, cadellin posted less than a minute ago!
tell me where "cadellin the name" is right now... .

So--help me out. Tell me where "Cadellin the name" is right now...
(Assuming, naturally, that you won't be giving yourself away if that's an issue for you)
(Assuming as well that this makes sense to you!)
