the anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day governing body, they are in fact following their leader, christ.. what a pile of filth!!!!.
the only capitalized letters are governing, body, leader, christ.
Welcome, 2014!

the title pretty much explains it all... i don't want to go too much into my story (for paranoid fear of identification), but i have been raised in the "truth", and got baptized at a young age- too young to truly understand what i was getting into.
i still live with my parents, and as such don't want to make a move just yet, as it would destroy virtually everything i have left.
as of now though, i see myself leaning towards agnosticism.. here's my short sob story.
Hi, confliction and welcome! Because of your age and circumstances, I think the slow fade is the best option for now. The good news is that you're young, you've got your whole life ahead of you and you don't have a JW spouse and children to deal with. Believe me, theocratic parents are hard but a spouse and children whom you love dearly are harder, simply because it's natural to make a break from your parents (move out, etc.) and not so much from your husband/wife.
So, the slow fade. You can do it, especially if your parents accept that you're depressed. That's a legit reason to skip the occasional meeting, to slow down in fs, etc. One of the most important things to do right now is to prepare for your future. One of the other posters suggested pulling up your grades so as to qualify for a scholarship to college. If you can swing moving away to college, your fade is in the bag. If not, saving $$, as you mentioned already, to move out and preferably away, to a different locale, will make things oh, so much easier. Remember, this is your life. It's the only one you get and you'd damn well better make it exactly the way you want it. That sounded dreadfully selfish, but I didn't mean it that way. Doing things for others, helping make the world a better place, giving $$ to charity, that's all part of happiness. But it's your choice, that's my point.
Keep reading--we've had other posters in very similar age/circumstances. And please keep us informed!
i've been visiting this forum everyday, reading and waiting patiently for approval to post.
i've never been a jw.
my husband and daughter are.
Welcome and hang in there. You've received some good suggestions already, so I don't have much to add except that this is definitely the place to learn the inside scoop.
well...i made.
3 days, thats all it took to convince me that.... the watch tower is jehovahs representative on earth, and if i want to be happy, be resurrected or survived armageddon, i most obey the slave class and its governing body.
it has an end people!!
I can HARDLY wait. Yes, the mermaid will be going in July. Oh boy. Thanks for the exciting preview...
5 years ago when i attended my last meeting.
ever since i started making decisions, instead of waiting on jehovah, things have been happening faster for me, its weird.. all my life i was told just wait on jehovah, wait on him for a husband, wait on him for children, wait on him for a happy life.. well you know what i stopped waiting and i am happy!!!!.
yes i did get a wonderful husband (who adores my every move) while in the org.
You Go, Girl!!!!!
Yup, it's amazing, isn't it? Congratulations on going back to college at the ripe young age of 40!!! I did, too, and I just finished my second year of grad school--took me 3 years to get my BA and it will be 2 to get my Master's and it's been worth every minute. Don't look back--you are in control and, what's best, you're setting an awesome example for your child!
okay, something that has always been a side point but still a rather ridiculous rule is that brothers cannot "serve" if they have a beard/goatee/anything more than just a moustache.
at least in the states, i've heard of some congregations in some countries allow this, but they are the exception?
your experience?.
As far as moustaches, we would do well to consider the following question: Does anyone really have a nose worth underlining? The answer is clearly "No!"
ROFLMAO!!!!!! Welcome, Laverite!!!!!!
he is 56 and his wife is 47..they are expecting a baby!.
can you imagine..he will be older than me when his kid graduates hs... and she will be in her middle to late 60's... makes me feel young again.... .
I have to wonder if it's Mrs. Travolta's egg they're using. Chances are, it's from a donor. 47-year-old eggs are, um--stale-dated. As Dr. Laura says, they ain't been kept in the fridge. Now, sperm, on the other hand, is made fresh as needed. I'll stop there.
the watchtower will be studied tomorrow that contains the new overlapping generations teaching.
paragraph 10 reads:.
"he evidently meant that the lives of the anointed who were on hand when the sign began to become evident in 1914 would overlap with the lives of other anointed ones who would see the start of the great tribulation.".
Count me in for the cough of incredulity--hell, I'll cough on para 10 & 14!
food was passed from one side and if you were #10 you may not get too much to eat!
when i finally did, she was not at all interested.
but i was lucky it didnt work out, for she never would have left the watchtower.
Randy, you're a gifted writer, engaging, conversational and never boring. I even read the parts about the MAN press. Thank you for taking the time to share your story and please, send installment #2!
just setting the record straight.
there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.
He will live as a symbol of courage forever. My heart goes out to his wife
