they keep confirming that religion is big business.the melbourne international convention is this weekend and i wish all the best to the activists who will be present.i came across this website set up for jws in attendence with comprehensive guides and information.

it's obvious that it has been created by the jws since they write this under the rooming tab.

we are all now free to book accommodation using the recommended lodging list (rll) which is provided on the rooming website!.

Can't believe this religion has changed so much ,so I agree with MAGNUM . The last convention in Melbourne I went to was in 1988 and this gross reach out to commercialism would not have happened in the past ,it was all focus on spiritual "things " back then.

In fact I think this all reminds me of the whoring the WTS did when it became an NGO of the United Nations. It was for worldly advatage sucking up the UN and now they are are sucking up again to the commercial elements of Melbourne to gain financial advantage!

about 7:30, june 9, 2010, theodore ("ted") jaracz, one of the members of the governing body ruling over jehovah's witnesses, died.

previously, on may 19, 2009, he had had a serious stroke, but recently seemed to have made a big recovery, giving some assembly talks.

In 1972, the Watchtower Society sent a directive to its Bodies of Elders saying they need not delete as fellow elders those who confessed to having committed pedophilia provided "several years" (later defined to 2-3 years) had passed and they appeared to still be enjoying "Jehovah's blessing," meaning their pedophilia had not become widely known beyond the other elders of the Watchtower Society.

Is there a copy of this directive anywhere online?

I don't have exactly what you ask for but the following scans of a British Bethel letter show the attitude and policies of the WTS toward pedo elders etc in the early 2000's

Why do CO's refuse to strip Elders of their position?

in several congregations i attended many elders were downright evil and flat out drunk with power.. many times i personally knew of things done by them that would have been a disfellowshipping offense had they not been elders.

and even though many times these issues and spiritual atrocities were reported to the co's and hq they would many times (if not all the time), get off with a mere slap on the wrist or a forced apology.. why do you believe elders are so protected?.

my theory is the authority integrity within the congregation.

This type of thing is human behaviour ,just the same in , say, the working environment and shows there is NO holy spirit working thru the WTS.

I think many JW's have experienced double standards but they are too fearful to stand up because they know the consequences.

I have written here before how this has happened to me and the reason that the elders and CO did nothing is fear ,fear of the bad elder revealing shit about them. So very human.

Looking at the WTS painting of Jesus and the inserted pic of superman actually tells me alot!

Look at Jesus's ,well he looks like he's actually got a camel toe happening there! whereas superman is quite MANLY in that region !

I think there maybe two ways of looking at this a: Jesus has no balls so how could he come around here and kill billions of people? or b: the GB is really right that anyone going to heaven has no sex so therefore they will all be rabid neutered killers "coming soon around the corner" tm

OCT 2019 Watchtower - Survival dependant on loyalty to JW Leaders

there is so much wrong with the newly released october, 2019 but that's not unusual.

what stands out is there statement claiming that survival through armageddon depends on loyalty to those 'taking the lead'.

since they claim there will be a point during the gt that they (the gb) won't be physically around, jws must still be loyal to jw leaders.. whats interesting in this article is that they make it clear that they, the governing body are going to take part, from heaven, in the war of armageddon.

The Watchtower page 17, par. 14 says - “Capable brothers from among the other sheep will take the lead. We will need to show our loyalty by supporting these brothers and by following their God-given direction. Our survival will depend on it!"

My thoughts on this are -

1. if capable brothers are to be used at this time they are talking about here ,why are they not selected from the rest of the 144K first and then the remaining ,if needed ,from the great crowd ?

2: Could the article be really about the GB actually realizing that they were wrong to adopt high profile images to the world ( unlike their pre-deccessors) , with the court cases etc., they are afraid that eventually being so public is actually a bad thing and they want to hide behind anonymity again!?

3: They have always flip flopped and been vague about when the 144K will go to heaven , so this provides an opportunity to "dissappear" and let the underlings take the flack for the organisation?

A question for Aussies about NBN and streaming / network dropout problems.

has any fellow australians here had problems with the internet dropping out either with their computers or streaming devices on the tv`s etc.. since the nbn took over we have had nothing but trouble with interruption of services on the tv and computer.. i would say it drops out at least 10 times or more in any one day.. it`s a bloody pain in the ass.. a technician came out the other day and supposedly fixed the problem that they knew about by the way (why didn`t they do something about it then instead of waiting for me to make a complaint ?).

the technician went away saying he had fixed the problem ,but lo and behold within a couple of hours we still had the same problems that have continued over this weekend.. i`m just curious if any other australians are having similar problems as i have outlined..

Hi fellow Australians ,I moved into my current house 4 years ago and not long after this I got a letter saying my street will be getting the NBN and I should connect asap.

Well I did with Optus and I'm pretty sure that then they laid Fibre cable all the way to the house ,not like now hooking onto the old copper wire running up to the house from the junction box on the footpath.

I watched the entire installation from the new junction box on the foot path to the house. When I moved in here I was living alone and was using my mobile phone as a hotspot to my PC and it worked really well ,as well as or better than the ADSL2 service that I had previously.

The old ADSL service gave me no problems ,then to save money I used my mobile as a hotpot with no problems except for a much lower data allowance ,the along comes the Optus NBN - crap from day one!

After the guys left from fitting the boxes to the wall and a box with the modem ,off they went and I was left to hook it up but it did not work nor did the phone . So I rang Optus tech who could'nt handle my problem so irritated I asked to speak to tech from their service centre and got a young man who tried to sound savvy but was,nt.

After explaining to him the problem and him checking the line etc. he said it was ok ,to which I said it is not OK coz it does'nt bloody work my end . What he did not know is that I had a computer background and had installed many of modems and got around problems certain ways so I got him to tell me what readings he got testing my line and it all pointed to the need to flash the operating data chip on the modem from his end .

He denied this would fix it at first but had to admit I sounded like I knew a bit ,so then he checked out the model modem I was given by optus and it turns out they have not been flashed correctly and he proceeded to find the right code and and remotely flash my modem and now it worked.

BUT for the last four years we have been getting dropouts of internet and phone ,it is slower than what I had before so the NBN is a con .Mind you it is not as bad as some people in Australia are having but it sucks and is a giant backward step ! The phone has dropped out for days sometimes ,and only by checking to see if it is working do we know it is connected .Under the old system it never dropped out unless someone dug up the lines in the street ,the light for the phone on the modem is on but the phone is not connected !

The old system was powered by about 50 volts by telstra so the the phone was always active . Now old people and invalided people have to have a back up battery set installed .

Like I said we have been conned ,poorer countries than ours have better systems than us ,politicians here are incompetent and don't have proper hands on skills to deal with what was public utilities that worked once ,and a current crop of Liberal incompetents will only fuck it up more. Stepping down from soapbox now

So the bible is not really clear ,was it only a practise for them to do while they were alive ?

They were not annointed till Pentecost ,and even then with other people who were not told personally by Jesus to commemerate his coming death.

There's alot missing from the bible story it seems ,kinda makes it easy to start your own religion and fill in a few gaps.

I guess this video is more poignant to one's who have felt the wrath of the WTS henchmen .

Those that have only "existed" in the rank and file and kept their heads down ,while still in, probably can't see what the fuss is all about.

There probably will never be a proper explanation as to why AM111 was buying that much booze ,why it had to be that expensive brand etc.

One things for sure, the WTS ,AM111 and the rest will never tell the truth , if they did it would be a first in the history of the WTS. I'd bet a bottle of "cheap" Johnnie Walker on that.
