  Black Sheep, I haven't even decided if it's worth pursuing... I love my dad. I miss him. But I know that if he were to "wake up", it would cause a rift between him and my mother. I have a feeling that even if god himself (were he real) came down and told my mother that the Watchtower was a false prophet, she wouldn't believe it. She's THAT washed in the brain.

  i would like to see ex jw males on youtube to be more clean cut and look like jws so current jws would most likely listen to them.

  To CStheApostate via The Silence, I completely agree with that. It's all in the approach. Newly questioning JW's are more apt to listen to someone who is honest about who they are and is calm and collected in their approach than to some of the raving lunatics who inhabit YouTube lol. Of course, as time goes on they may listen to the raving lunatics, too...because everyone has a point and everyone has good information, no matter the way it's presented (with a few exceptions). Everyone has a part to play in trying to free the minds of the JW's. In my opinion, the vast array of personality types and presentations will appeal to a variety of personality types. So everyone will help someone in some way.

  N.Drew, I've never seen the 3rd, only the first 2. I'm kind of picky with sequels past the 2nd... Like "okay, this has been done...enough already" LOL.

  Exceptions are Shrek (Hey!! Shrek the Halls is another!), Transformers, and Twilight lol.

  THANK YOU! That gives me a great starting point... I really want to write a letter to my dad and explain these things to him. He converted after I was an adult...while he was worldly and I was a teen we had a very close relationship. He was one of my best friends. Now I don't even know him anymore. If I can get him to think, maybe, just MAYBE he can get my mom to think. It's a long shot, but it can't get any worse than it is now. They already hardly speak to me.

  I was just an unsuspecting kid when this talk was given, then. Does anyone have a copy of the "Stay alive til 75" talk?? A while back, my dad asked for PROOF that the Society pushed 1975. I showed him the evidence in the Rutherford book (forget the name of it right now...the one with the tables showing the dates of "importance" and then question marks after 1975...). He brushed it off as "that's not proof...they didn't SAY it would happen in 1975...they didn't tell people to sell their homes...those people took it upon themselves to do so". I'd like something more concrete if it comes up again.

  As An EXJW Does Christmas Mean Anything To You?

  i've been thinking how correct the witnesses are regarding an aspect of xmas.

  it is totally commercialized and it's big business and materialism.

  having said that, i enjoy giving presents and recieving them.

  LOL minimus. My daughter's birthday was last week as well...but considering she's being raised a JW, she gets jack squat in December.

  For me, I love secular Christmas. The lights, the tree, the other decorations, the Christmas songs, the food, etc. I feel like I missed a lot growing up, so I'm enjoying the catching up. Like OTWO, I'm an Atheist, so I don't celebrate the day that some dude who probably didn't exist was supposedly born on earth. However, I do believe in some Pagan ideas, so to me it is a special time of year due to the changes going on.

  My future children will have Santa Claus and everything involved with Christmas. I refuse to let another generation miss out on life over something silly like "it's not real" or "it has ____ origins". Whatever. Let the kids enjoy some magic and wonder before they have to grow up!

  Apparently the site Black Sheep posted is being inundated by us apostates...the admin or whatever said they weren't going to delete comments because they got into a HUGE debate about censorship and was called a hypocrite because they were doing the same thing they were railing against...
