Not to be a stick in the mud, but could that be considered vandalism, since it isn't your property and a bumper sticker is pretty permanent? Even if you can scrape it off and save your paint job, you're still left with a spot with glue residue and a possibly darker area due to sun fading of the vehicle...Just thinking out loud...

Memorial Experiences

one of my friends gave me an experience where 4 out of the five elders partook of the emblems....daddy elder and his three son!!!

One year, my mother invited my uncle's girlfriend to the Memorial. She had explained everything beforehand, right down to why they don't drink the Manischewitz and eat the crackers. She said she understood and agreed to go.
Well, when it came time for the passing of the emblems, she drank and ate lol. And it wasn't because she didn't "understand"... It was because she basically thought it was ridiculous to pass bread and wine around in honor of Christ and NOT partake. She basically had her own little protest of my mother's (and everyone else who was present) beliefs.

As for the sex topics, I agree that it's not a matter of "if you don't like it, don't read it". It's a matter of "stop friggin' posting them until you turn 18". This is a discussion forum that is open to many different topics, but someone who is underage should NOT be posting such things within a group of adults. Instead of whining about your right to post what you want on a public forum, how about being a little more mature and understanding/respecting that we, as legal adults, don't want to be implicated in discussing such matters with a minor?

Interestingly, these behaviors that are expected of parents are termed as "discipline". Discipline is " training that corrects , molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character". Now, Jesus had disciples...they were people who had to be trained and corrected in order to perfect their mental faculties or moral character in order to be acceptable to him. So basically, Jesus did discipline his disciples.
Did Jesus train and correct them? YES. Did he do so with humiliation or with beatings? NO.
The addage that "beatings will continue until morale improves" is not scriptural, is not based on Jesus' teachings or the model he left to follow.
And these yahoos call themselves "Christian".

My parents' response to this was that whoever did this was working on his own, unbeknownst to the Society and that surely he must have been punished for this! Surely it must have been one of those APOSTATES that sometimes infiltrate Bethel and he's no longer there OR a Jehovah's Witness! When I told them it was Ciro Aulicino...the one who gave the (disgusting) talk that they waxed poetic about and insisted I (and every other JW or person studying that lived on the East Coast) listen to, and that he was doing research for the writing department with the Society's blessing, they changed their tune and said he must have had his reasons for doing so...and once he found out it was wrong, he changed.
Excuses excuses excuses. ANY excuse so they don't have to do something so uncomfortable as to use their brain!!

Are you an athiest and why?

never thought i would come to a day that i did not believe in a god.
believing in a god is like believing in super man, it would be great if he existed but well it's just a fairy tale.

I'm an Atheist simply because no other conclusion is logical to me. Skimming the beliefs of other factions of Christianity, of more traditional religions, etc. has led me to the same conclusion. The Bible makes no sense to me as being the word of any god, seeing as how I know the history behind it. No all-powerful god would allow his "loving letter" to be so corrupted through time.
I will say, as I've said before, that I am a practicing witch... Now, to many that doesn't make sense because doesn't that entail believing in a god and goddess? Not in my view. It's entirely possible. I believe in energy that we all possess and that is in the world around us...in everything. Not "god", but real scientifically proven energy. I also believe that it can be manipulated and focused. I'm not talking Harry Potter shit, here lol. Many have noted the "power of prayer" in affecting change. But the change is something you've brought about YOURSELF through your own focused positive thoughts. Not because someone is on the other end listening and "answers" your prayer. But because you focused your own energy and perhaps asked others to do so in your behalf, you affected a change by working WITH that energy in your every day life. Positive thinking and a positive attitude are proven to better things in your life. It's a known fact. And that's all I do.
