They learned how to imply alot while saying very little. They learned from the 1975 debacle... Without printing such things, they could turn it right around on the R & F and blame them for "running ahead of Jehovah's Organization".

Witness came to my door this morning....
by lalaa inthis is the first time ever that the they have come to my door.
all i can say is that the man's presentation wasn't good at all.. first he started asking what i thought about the rapture, but didn't really get into the topic, and said that the word rapture wasn't mentioned in the bible.
then he said the watchtower goes over the signs of the end...blah, blah, blah...nothing interesting to add.. then he showed me the awake and said he liked the picture of the hands and said..."did you know that there are over 50 bones in our hands".

I don't update my status very often... Usually it's just a countdown to when I'm moving lol.
This is the number one reason I will not join Twitter and "Tweet"... IDGAF what everyone is doing every second of every day. And I'm sure even less people GAF what I'm doing lol.

Pig I think you're right... I Bing'ed it and this is what I found:
Some Witnesses interpreted Psalms 90:10 as defining the length of a generation to be 80 years. Since 1914 plus 80 equals 1994, they predicted Armageddon would occur around that year. This prediction came from the grass-roots level of the organization. The WTS itself did not officially proclaim it... http://www.religioustolerance.org/witness8c.htm
So I guess this wasn't an actual WTBTS prophecy, just something that was circulated and again, failed. That's why we don't find written references to anything noteworthy happening in 1994.
LOL @ "elastic generation"

First he started asking what I thought about the rapture, but didn't really get into the topic, and said that the word rapture wasn't mentioned in the bible.
I would've asked him to show me the term Governing Body in the bible... it's not there, either... But then he would have been tipped off that you were an "apostate" and would've turned tail and ran. The difference is, the concept of the rapture is taken from scripture. The concept of a governing body is not.
The newer presentations that are outlined in the KM's are watered down, canned, quick, and uninteresting. There's no real "sales pitch" anymore...just more of a "here's the frickin' magazine, part of it talks about such-and-such, have a nice day". Most of the time they don't take the time to cite a bible passage anymore, nor do they try to engage in a conversation. That's why when they do come upon someone who is more than willing to talk about the bible, a lot of times they are grossly ill-prepared.

Hmmm... seems the JW's have the most failed end-times prophecies of any of the others... and yet they claim to have had their finger on the pulse of world conditions... Oy.

If you really need a talk title to give to make it look like you went, how about "A Godly View of Sex and Marriage"? LMAO that'll halt any further questions. JW's hate talking about sex LOL.
