I felt important before, now I feel just regular
by BonaFide inwhen i first got assigned to the circuit work, the branch sent me far away to a rural circuit, they usually do that with the new c.o.'s.
i had 17 congregations, some of them were only 12 publishers.
no sound system, no stage, meetings in a persons home with no ac.

You don't realize how position oriented everyone is in the org until you are "out of the loop" and then it seems so ridiculous. That's why during social gatherings there was the constant name dropping. The pecking order of importantance is established in the group if you know a wide range of 'important' elders, CO's DO's GB ect. I was a MS and I totally fell into that trap. Soo busy before and after meetings, up and around during the meeting, multiple parts in one night, constant compliments for this or that talk ect. You are convinced it is all hugely important, after all everything you are doing was somehow prophesied by God thousands of years ago. Imagine the ego at the GB level. Do they believe they personally are the culmination of 6000 years of bible prophesy. You bet. Such hubris! ofo

Ted Jaracs had a stroke, no one knows how bad but he's not dead. Public line is 'he's fine'.
You are more than welcome to send flowers or a card
He was a real Jackass and no one likes him. He pretty much runs the show. Lots of people hope he dies. Barbara seems really nice and genuine. The religion is bul*s*it. TJ was the one who wanted so shut up molestation victims. He is an a*sh*le. Sorry. I'm not too good at summarising. Did this help? ofo

I remember the pink/purple/red/maroon softback songbook. Vaguely, I was a kid when the new one came out. Keep your eyes on the prize was the last song I remember. The current one has 225 songs, so if there is 100 holdovers then they are dumping over half. I hope they keep the good marching songs like firm and determined. Hate the lyrics, but love feeling like i'm in a Wagner opera. ofo

Your in for a treat oompa. It's worth your time. Lots of interesting Ted Jaracz and other bethel/GB stories from Barbara, BonaFide, Winston and others that are real eye openers. Enjoy
I wanna take the moment to thank Barbara, BonaFide, Winston, and others for their time on this thread. I concur, glued to the screen about all this. ofo

For those of you going to meetings, assemblies or conventions, try this.....
by awildflower inthe last official 'meeting' i went to was in january at our two day assembly.
believe me i didn't want to go but i did and took a different kind of notes.
for one i wrote down in my note book words like "faithful and discreet slave", gb, organization, fruits of the spirit, jesus, and put a check mark next to each time i heard one of them, (just like when we were kids guys!).
