"i know i sound like a broken record, tommy, but please try and keep up with me!
" shouted a beloved but cranky uncle jimmy.. .
the unlikely pair, handsome and tall professor james harris and his chunky teenaged nephew and helper, tommy james, were heading toward the airport, on foot.
Thank-you, for the story.
I've been digesting it all day.
I miss her.
my sister called me tonight, and reminded me of this, i had forgotten.
- there was an engagement party and the whole cong was invited.
- the fourth of six kids, and it was in a function room with no bar.. everyone was allowed one glass of wine and no one was allowed to bring any.
My cousin's wedding.
They sliced cheese as an appetizer, covered the plates with plastic wrap, then left them sitting on the tables til the wedding the next day. The cheese was oily and curled up on the edges. Yuck!!
They mashed the potatoes the night before, too, and put them in aluminum trays. They were gray and tasted like tinfoil by the next day. Yuck!!
We drove 800 miles to be there and were virtually ignored in favor of the groom's family, who all lived locally. His family was given wine with the supper. We got none.
When they took family pictures, they took pics of the bride and groom with his family. We were in none of the pictures.
so i got a call from my ex tonight and she wants to pull my daughter out of school and home-school her.
she thinks that the schools are getting so bad(in a small town of 15,000...?).
my daughter loves school she doing great in school.
Homeschooling is a daunting task and requires a serious commitment from the parents.
I've seen it done well, and I've seen JW's do it who really had no commitment to it (other than wanting to sheild their children from "worldly" influences) and the children suffered greatly.
It should only be done if you want and CAN provide your child with a more rounded out education and NOT just to keep them away from "worldly" people.
What are your ex's motivations for this?
we have come to an accomodation.
i keep my roquefort and blue cheese in a ziplock bag and try not to leave it out any longer than necessary for my snack.
she tolerates my maries blue cheese salad dressing.
I put a little bit of blue cheese in when I make homemade mac & cheese. It gives it a nice tangy flavor.
And there's nothing better than a medium rare steak with blue cheese sauce on it.
The key to blue cheese is : moderation.

What you are looking for sounds alot like me, but I'm not available.
i'm sure that this has been discussed before, but bear with me while i share my little insight.. the scripture about the fds is found in jesus description of the last days in matthew 24. not in mark 13, nor luke 21. those other writers didn't consider it important enough to include it in their writings.
it is the only mention, as far as i know, of any such "arrangement," yet on face value, if you are just reading the bible, it seems more like one of jesus' thought-provoking rhetorical questions, rather than a part of the sign of the last days.
no "two or three witnesses," yet this one scripture has become a rallying cry for a whole religion, consisting of millions of adherents!.
stillin,
I think you and I are struggling with the same issues right now. Thanks for posting this thread, I hope more people give their thoughts on it, too.
nice to be here and look forward to meeting you all.
