  this morning i was unpacking family heirlooms that have been some six months in storage.

  in the bottom of a cranberry glass dessert dish was what i took to be a tiny curtain ring.

  I've learned so much, from so many on this board.......I can't even begin to say.

  Even Alice/Rachel/Consfearacy/Spade/SuperSpook.......and now Maze:

  It's the first time in my life I've ever stood up for myself and been vocal about standing up for others. And I don't read WT literature anymore, so it's posts have helped me learn the critical thinking abilities I lacked as a JW.

  "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver is one that I read over and over, too. ((( hugs to Deceived....)))

  Another one is "I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb - GREAT story.

  I loved the Pillars of the Earth books by Ken Follett, too.

  JWs and the Family Unit - Calling Maze to defend assertions

  in the thread about the wt in russia, maze made the assertions below.. .

  jehovah's witnesses as an organization acts as a protection to the family unit.

  andthe lie that jehovah's witnesses ruin families is apostate poison.. to aviod derailing that thread, i ask maze to defend them here.. my experience is that the jw religion destroyed my brothers' marriage.

  An exerpt:

  It's worse for a women over 50 to sleep around and become callous and desensitized. There's no one that thinks you have any practical value as a family member. More like hollow and emotionally deficient. I'm back at the meetings and getting involved with a real family (the Christian congregation). As long as your grossly immoral I'll just write you off as bad association and of no use to me.

  Please explain how this part proves the JW's value the family unit?

  We'll leave "drama and dysfunction" aside for now.....
