No offense, to Band, whom I thinks given very good GENERAL legal advice. But a couple of the others here - my lawyer just shakes his head at their arrogance and ignorance.

sometimes those questions are just trying to get a sense of what questions such one should ask (perhaps of an attorney), sometimes they have to do with very ordinary events, and sometimes they really do require in-depth legal assistance/analysis.

I am involved in a legal case right now
When I've shown their advice to my (real) attorney, he has gotten quite angry at their ignorance.
Seriously:
SOME OF THE PEOPLE ON HERE CLAIMING TO HAVE LEGAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE ARE IDIOTS.
I feel bad when ones ask for their advice by name.

Ya, I didn't grow up with the same Smurf fears as the rest of you.........We heard the stories,( Smurf runs amok at K-Hall and terrorizes congregation ......) but my parents were inactive at the time, so I remember watching Smurfs on Saturday mornings.......
I think I had some figurines, too.....
The Steelers t-shirt we totally understood....... ( too small for the man, but makes a great nightie for me......)
The Smurf we were like, "Whaaaaa??? "

The Crux of the Matter For Me
by MrDarkKnight init has been very interesting and beneficial reading the posts and comments of everyone on the board since i joined back in june of this year.
the recent efforts of mankeli have made me consider exactly what it is i have issue with when it comes to the teachings of the wtbs and jehovah's witnesses.
i have stated my background before: 38 years in the organization, 10 years at bethel in responsible positions, 15 years an elder with circuit and district responsibilities and parts on circuit and disctrict assemblies, a former member of the hospital liason committee and a presiding overseer for 5 years.

You are assuming "the scriptures" are the final word.
When I checked out the actual history of the Bible canon and how it came to be, I was shocked.
As a JW, you think you are getting a first-rate religious education - you are not.

It appears that I am being hunted down (visited by two elders)
by maninthemiddle inrecently two elders caught my wife at the door while i was away.
they mentioned the need to talk to me about something on facebook.
yes, i know how facebook can be, but i choose to use it anyway.. the strange thing is, i just spent a alot of time looking at it, and nothing is publicly available, so unless a one spouse of an inactive jw is looking at it, i don't see how they were able to get this information.. anyway, that wasn't my real question.. i haven't been to any kh in over 2 years, i haven't seen the elder (24 year old) in about two years and don't even know the other (he is recently out of bethel, but older 50ish?)..
