The Two Trees - My Genesis Ponderings
by cedars ini've just posted a new blog article to jwstruggle.com on the link below:.
http://www.jwstruggle.com/2012/03/the-two-trees-my-genesis-ponderings/.
the purpose behind the article is to explore my own doubts and long-standing confusion over the genesis narrative - particularly the events surrounding adam and eve's expulsion from eden, and the "two trees" (namely the "tree of life" and the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad").. in my article i discuss my confusion over what the exact properties of the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad" may have been, and the fact that evidently by eating of the fruit adam and eve did not become sinful but more godlike.

Does the Watchtower magazine carry more weight than the Bible?
by Sour Grapes inlast week as i listened to the public talk, i noticed.
that several times the speaker referred to the watchtower.
as the source of authority.. he said that "in the july1, 1980 watchtower page 15. paragraph 4 it says".... it is like he was looking up a bible.

See how many quotations are in a standard Watchtower and compare it to a 3-hour sermon from your local church. The difference is obvious and quite laughable.
I have done that.
And you are wrong.

Egghead:
@palmtree67 ....................you are certainly entitled to have and proffer as many opinions as you wish.
It's so wonderful to have your permission. Ummmmm, thanks.
Any thoughts on what it means?
If you don't know what you meant, then who else would know what you meant?
Ummmmm, I wasn't asking if he knew what I meant. I was welcoming him to share his thoughts on the subject.
"SMARTASS" isn't an attractive look for you, Egghead.

Are black people more emotional than white people
by barry ini see in churches in the states standing up in church dancing, clapping their hands and being quite emotional even in a church.
things which that wouldnt be acceptable in australia.. the link below also shows black sda ministers dressed in clergy style dress which is quite unusual for ministers here in australia.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yynbdm0unsw&feature=g-all&context=g2e791f1faaaaaaaamaas .
could any of my american friends inform me i showed it to my father who is a lay preacher and he was mistified as to what tradition this dress comes from but seems to be concentrated to th eblack community also?.

If you are on facebook, I'm part of "Bookworm Discussion Haven" started by a friend of mine in Australia.
I think Talesin is on there, too.....
I've gotten really good book suggestions from there.
Right now, several of us are reading/have just read "Neverland" by Douglas Clegg.....if you like creepy children, you will like that book, too....
