Reniaa,
Some of the big doctrinal stuff HAS changed, darling. As I'm sure you're aware of, being a regular on this forum.

"It is up to us to see what He has revealed"
Sorry, but, you go against your own line of reasoning here, Spike.
Is it up to us to see what is revealed OR is it up to the GB? They say it's up to them and we have no say in the matter.
if you work in retail, i'm sure you've had this situation.
a drop dead knockout woman walks in who's dressed provocatively and asks you a question.
you can actually feel the blood draining from your skull and your speech reverting to a grunting, stumbling cave man talk.
From a female point of view, I don't mind the drooling, as long as you're respectful about it. I like when you guys use humor!!
One of my favourite lines I ever got was a guy who asked how I was doing. I said I was fine. And he said, "Now, I know you be fine. What I asked you was how you doing today!!"
Humor is the key, JD!!

Blue, I wasn't derailing into a debate about the Trinity.
I want to see whether Reniaa follows an organization OR her own bible trained conscience, which I think is relevant to this discussion.
Would anybody follow the GB if they required belief in something that you personally do not feel is bible based?

Reniaa,
Based on your last post here, your own personal understanding of the Bible (apart from what the GB says) is that the Trinity doctrine is incorrect.
What would you do if the GB suddenly directed that we should now Believe in the Trinity?
as most people here know the combined book study allows an evening for "family worship".. the co visits march - august 2009 is really focussing on this.
if a jdub family head doesn't do a full evening of family worship and uses this time to do recreational activities he is as guilty as isrealite who didn't use the sabbath for worship.
the result, will of course be same as the unfaithful isrealite, death!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if they are wanting this Family Night to be like a "mini-meeting"??
Maybe they are gearing up for "the end", when meetings will be banned. This way everybody already has experience with conducting a weekly "mini-meeting" in their own house.
Maybe????
if you knew me personally.."..fill in your answer or comment about yourself.. your chance to explain or enlighten people about the real you !.
i would say of myself... regardless of my strong beliefs or feelings on things i can not hurt peoples feelings i love kindness , true connection , peace and peace of mind are everything to me... no cruelty even to animals.
i have a very small group of friends.
If you knew me personally.....
I've been told a few times in my life that I intimidate people. It makes me very sad that that is the first impression I give.
But those who know me know that I am a very good friend, I care very deeply about others, I will do almost anything for almost anybody (I'm not a doormat.)
I read all kinds of books, and like Blue, I love to cook, so I often read cookbooks.
I am also a pretty good flamenco dancer.

As the title of this thread points out: Imperfection is irrelevant.
Reniaa, we all accept the GB as being imperfect. You can stop trying to convince us of that.
The point here is: Who has the right to rule. You didn't address the point.
I can accept that God may have a group or a person to help direct us to Him. He has done that in the past. But there's a difference between someone who is HELPING others to cultivate a relationship with their Creator, and someone who DICTATES what that relationship should be like.
If the GB speaks for God, then great. Let us know what his thoughts on everything are. Explain various Bible principles and how they can possibly apply. But then, LEAVE IT TO THE PEOPLE TO APPLY WHAT THEY HAVE LEARNED. Why do they have to be such enforcers??
Each person's spirituality is different. Doesn't the Bible speak of spritual "babes" and of those "fully grown"?
The GB expects, no - DEMANDS that everyone be perfect immediately and never make any mistakes or God help you, you will suffer now and miss out on Life Eternal.
I still think the parent/child relationship applies. Expectations change as the child grows. We expect that they will eventually be potty-trained, learn to read, learn to take care of themselves.
I just dont think God expects exactly the same thing from each of us. And I don't think the GB has the right to punish the way they do.
Again, only on my first cup of coffee, folks....
michael jackson's kids off to the kingdom hall ..... .
i volunteer randy drive over in a van and kidnap them to a safe haven, where they'll grow up like normal kids.
