Movement by the Australian Government
by no-zombie inin responce to the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse held in australia last year, the state government of new south wales has passed legislation that removes the time limit on civil claims for child sexual abuse.
while not applying to the whole of australia, its likely that the other state will follow nsw's example shortly.
for those living outside of australia, it may be interesting to note that nsw is australia's largest state (by population) and therefore should cover approximately 30% of the country's of child abuse victims.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-16/legislative-changes-remove-time-limit-for-child-abuse-victims/7172562.

WBTS goes to Court of Appeal (Charity Commission investigation)
by Mephis inafter a number of high profile cases where both children and survivors clearly weren't adequately protected, the charity commission here in the uk launched an investigation into the wbts as a whole here in britain.
the main concerns are around the child safeguarding policies being inadequate.
wbts have fought every step of the way so far.. wbts have been to the high court, who told them to complain to the proper tribunal.. wbts have been to the proper tribunal, who told them that too darn right there were suitable grounds for the charity commission to want to investigate their inability to protect children.. and now the wbts have gone back to the court of appeal to demand that the charity commission inquiry be halted.. i hope the court of appeal tells them that, yes, they too need to have proper safeguarding measures for children and to get on with co-operating with the investigation.. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/charity-commission-defends-its-investigation-into-jehovahs-witness-charity-in-the-court-of-appeal.

Judicial processes that last for years and years, appeal after appeal, always seeking a higher court... Who has the time and money to litigate indefinitely with the Watchtower? -

The Jehovah's Witnesses organisation keeps a sex offenders register that nobody outside the church is allowed to see, a former "elder" tellsPanorama.
Bill Bowen, who has spent his lifetime as a Jehovah's Witness and nearly twenty years as an elder, says the organisation covers up abuse by keeping this database secret.
His sources indicate there are 23,720 abusers on the list - who are protected by the system.
"They [the Jehovah's Witnesses] do not want people to know that they have this problem", he tells Panorama.
