Awen, well written post!
I too am a member of the "I don't know" group.
dear friends:.
for years now after my exit from the wtbts i have searched for god.
as i have previously mentioned in other threads i looked into many other religions, including druidry, zen and tibetan buddhism (not really a religion), asatru, native american shamanism, kemetic orthodoxy, gnosticism and pandeism.
Awen, well written post!

my answer is yes.
what about you?.
I beleive that the doctor was negligent -- he was of course responsible for the health care of his client - even though his client was a powerful superstar.
So I have to vote yes for "negligint homicide".
texas prisons end special last meals for inmates facing execution.. .

bangalore.
Its unfortunate that a small act of compassion for those about to be executed has been taken away because of some outragous requests by previous inmates. And before anyone says that their victims got no such last meal or a final meeting with their family, I would hope that we as a society are better than the killers we put to death.
"Is any killer worth more than his crime?"
scary ones, stupid ones, funny ones, even good ones, anything.. .
if anyone can find a lot of the scary ones, that would be great, but that's just for me.
i want to show them to someone.. .
Leolaia, where is that picture from -- I'd love to know the context of that!
cheers
this appeared in 1975; i was 23 at the time.
i don't remember this article and if i had been born in 1975 would the 36-year-old i'd be today be motivated for any reason to research it.. *** w75 11/1 p. 651 insight on the news ***insight on the news pray now, pay later.
the phrase pray now, pay later appeared in a headline of the philadelphia inquirer in reporting on a church experiment due to go into effect shortly.
Another fine example of revisionist history or should I say ignorationist (I just made that up -) history.
Thanks Blondie!
huh?.
cern claims faster-than-light particle measuredgeneva (ap) -- a fundamental pillar of physics - that nothing can go faster than the speed of light - appears to be smashed by an oddball subatomic particle that has apparently made a giant end run around albert einstein's theories.. scientists at the world's largest physics lab said thursday they have clocked neutrinos traveling faster than light.
that's something that according to einstein's 1905 special theory of relativity - the famous e (equals) mc2 equation - just doesn't happen.. "the feeling that most people have is this can't be right, this can't be real," said james gillies, a spokesman for the european organization for nuclear research, or cern, outside the swiss city of geneva.. gillies told the associated press that the readings have so astounded researchers that they are asking others to independently verify the measurements before claiming an actual discovery.. "they are inviting the broader physics community to look at what they've done and really scrutinize it in great detail, and ideally for someone elsewhere in the world to repeat the measurements," he said thursday.. scientists at the competing fermilab in chicago have promised to start such work immediately.. "it's a shock," said fermilab head theoretician stephen parke, who was not part of the research in geneva.
I'm sure they have thought of this, but I don't think there there ever is a "complete vacuum", virtual particle may create a medium that slows down photons, but neutrinos are weakly interacting and may not be affected by the virtual particles in the vacuum.

I think if the world population grows over 10 Billion, you can pretty much say goodbye to all the megafauna out there. A lot of the larger animals in our planets ecosystem need large open spaces in order to survive. Many of these areas are already shrinking to the detriment of the animals.
I dont think our population will grow much past 9 billion.
Of course I'm an armchair eco-biologist... your mileage may vary.
i received the following email from a former jw that i thought to share.
note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.
the letter is authentic.
Shamus has a good point about the disabling the acceptance of credit cards and only accepting debit cards -- that way insuring that people only donate what they may actually have available in cash.
It doesn't matter how much cash I carry -- im equally paranoid all the time

To play a bit of devils advocate here:
This may be the only way for them to get larger donations (those greater than a few bucks or spare change) as a lot of people no longer carry that much cash.
