Like, dislike and Flag -- what do they do?
by darthfader ini often read posts and feel they speak to the point better than i. i think about commenting "agree" on the thread, but that seems to be just adding noise.
on the new forum, i see that there's a like/dislike/flag option next to each posting.
are these captured and rated someplace, can we see posts based on their rankings?.

"at what point does the Bible become an obsolete revelation?"
It already happened, thousands of years ago. Many people havent seen it yet...

If You Owned This Site Would It Be Any Different?
by minimus inthis site is probably one of the most informative jw sites on the internet.
if you want to keep abreast of the watchtower, this is a great place to find out the latest in jw land.
kudos to simon for keeping it going all these years!!!

It would be nice to have a like rating or upvote capability. This way those of us who comment rarely get to "contribute" by adding weight to good comments and topics.
No negative votes either.
I like the site a lot! I think most of my problems come from using IE as a browser. Yes, I'm a techy and use IE...
cheers!

Why did Jesus tell the convict on the cross next to his, that he would be joining him in Heaven TODAY??
by Faithful Witness inmaybe a silly question, but i'm curious about this part of the story of christ's crucifixion, when the 1 thief challenges jesus to save himself and "us too" from their deaths, but the 2nd thief rebukes him and pleads with jesus... .
luke 23:42-43: and he said unto jesus, lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
and jesus said unto him, verily i say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.. .

Do you believe this to be true? 85 people control 50% of the the world's wealth.

Some wealth inequality is not a problem -- in some cases it may be a good thing. But the level of inequality in today's global economy is just absurd. I'm not sure that a "tax" and redistribute methodology will work since governments are wholly incabable of operating efficiently -- most of the taxation would be lost in inefficiencies.

Your graphic is misleading.. The top 85 people are more wealthy then the poorest 1/2 of the population. The graphic (above) leaves out other 99.9999976% of the wealthier 1/2....
But it's still a dismal statistic.

I could tell you were on the fence by some of your comments, but I never expected this.
Good luck in your journies -- no one has the right to judge you for seeking peace and happiness as long as you are true to yourself.
I'll miss your posts.
cheers
