Funny thing.. I totally forgot the melody to that song until I read the lyrics.. Even though my wife and I have been faded for years -- I am still surprised and the way the Organization works in little devious ways to further the control. I really feel for those who are still in...
Thanks!

You have got to be kidding me! That is a blatant and "in your face" change --- I really hope some of the rank and file see that! WOW!

After I die, will I exist again? Forever is a long time -- A lot can happen when you think of infinity...

Arizona Assembly Hall costs $7M (material & land)
by Gayle inhttp://www.trivalleycentral.com/articles/2010/07/09/maricopa_monitor/religion/doc4c3629b66de3f020301784.txt.
this has got to be an economic crunch for jws around here..financial housing crisis has hit many jws (and non-jws).
the job market is very tight.

Looks pretty. It is supposed to serve Tucson as well as the Phoenix area? The witnesses have been struggling for years to get an assembly hall. Im glad this one is in an equally inconvenient location for everyone except those living in CG. It strikes me the number of volunteers who build Halls for the organization -- It's got to be a burden to all those construction workers looking for a job. I wonder if any of the workers are on Unemployment while volunteering for the Organization...

MP3s !!! 2010-2011 DC TALKS
by yknot incommentary on mp3s: (in addition to circulate as you see fit!).
in light of the wts's recent attempts to conceal it's talks from broader inspection and documentation, mp3s to the public are now mostly the works of the 'conscious class' and those exjws who force themselves to endure hours upon hours of control-laced presentations.
kudos to all those who embody anonymous.

Re-reading "Crisis of Conscience" again....
by ziddina inthe 'revelations' hit me even harder, the second time around..... i purchased two copies, the version copyrighted 1983 and the version copyrighted 2004. i kept the old version [1983] and just donated the 2004 copy to my local library - with a quick warning that 'cult' members may be inclined to steal the expose.
i decided to read it again to try to visualize how a "worldly" person who is unacquainted with the jws would view the book.... in reading the book again, i am more forcefully struck by the blatant contradictions between the 'official' stance of the watchtower society and their 'behind-the-scenes' behavior.... chapters 3 & 4 - "governing body" and "internal upheaval and restructure" - contain some eye-popping material... the earlier portion of chapter 3 touches on the intrusive regulation of sexual practices between husband and wife [i'll bet any worldly person reading that would find that chilling, to say the least...], and then goes into the power struggles between russell's followers and rutherford's ousting of said followers during his successful bid for control.. very revealing... i was also struck by the fact that the wtbts was a religion with a single man leading it, until the very end of nathan knorr's period of leadership, despite the claims of the watchtower magazine that "god's organization" was being run by a "governing body" of spiritual "caretakers" for several years prior to the actual existence of said "governing body"!!!.
as ray franz states, page 65 of 1983 version: "[quote from 12/15/71 watchtower...]: "thus, too, even though there were no apostles of christ on hand in the nineteenth century, god's holy spirit must have been operative toward the formation of the governing body for his anoited remnant ... the facts speak for themselves.

Since the Author of COC was a JW.. It goes without reason that the "God" referenced in your sentence is Jehovah. Since you didn't specifically list that name in your question, I would say the nearest name is Yahweh.
I would be tempted to pick Satan or maybe the Triple Goddess, but that would be baiting...

Debator,
The love you speak of "like a parent loves their child" is not the same love within the Organization. The love from the "elders" in the forms of rebuke and councel and "encouragement" is a manifestation of selfishness and self preservation - where the "keeping the congregation without spot" is the primary focus - not the care an feeding of the tender ones.
