New light or did the speaker just pull this out his wazoo?
by pubtruth ini went to the last day of the dc here in west palm beach, just to make my mother company.
wow, what a difference can a year outside the lie can do to perception.
it was the same crap as you'd expect but there is a plot twist: the speaker was so into the talk he was actually starting to shout and wound up mentioning that they now know how many angels will be needed to destroy everyone at armaggeddon.

To kill 186,000 men over the course of 8 hours is certainly doable by a person. Line the men up in a straight line insuring that you have the ordered by height. Given that the average width for humans of 2 feet means that the line of men to kill will be just over 70 miles. Taking a sharp blade you run along the line cleanly slicing their necks at a pace of 1 mile every 7 minutes.
So... This means 2 things:
- It's a dumb verse in the bible
- I am a morbid dood...

One Angel killed 186,000 Assyrians in one evening. So, taking (approx) 7 billion people need killin', it would take 37,634 angels to do it in one evening. I guess this would assume 1 8 hour period.
gotta love that math

I have decided that the "amatuer status" of Olymic Athletes is bogus.
by james_woods ini am listening to the "outrage" over how the u.s. basketball team totally swamped the nigerian team.. they are accused of being "professionals" and of "running up the score".. well - here is my observation: none of these athletes are really, truly, "amatuers" - all of them have some kind of sponshorship or support.. so did the ancient greeks - they were essentially government employees of their day.. let's get over it and let the best athletes play the best athletes.. if the u.s. can beat uzbekistan in football, so be it.
if the gdr can beat us in target shooting, so be it.. i agree with no drugs - i agree with no men dressed up as women, but this "amatuer status" thing is bogus - and not a part of the ancient tradition either.. rant over - i leave you to your scheduled programming..

Sponsorship support shouldn't be the only criteria that makes a professional.
The problem I see is that pretty much no one can make it to the Olympics unless they are "professionals". The players and their families have to make so many sacrifices financially and otherwise that they cannot attain the levels without "help". The fact that some little gymnast never got "paid" to perform bears striking difference from "professional athletes" who make money to play their sport. Sponsorship basically pays the Olympians bills for their training and travel etc.
And specifically being an amature means that they play their sport as a pastime -- implying that they do something else as a career. I don't think you can call any Olympian an amature just by that definition.

Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?
by minimus inthere are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".
and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.
simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

There are a few people local to me that I'd like to meet, TD and Gayle are two of them.
I'd like to meet EE, Beks, BTS, NC, Leolaia, AllTimeJeff, Farkel, Shamus(100), Gladiator, Blondie just to name a few.
Each in their own way have helped me to understand that the JW's are a cult. Their varied experiences really highlight the success we all can have outside the organization.
Cheers all!
