My youngest child went to stay with his grandparents over the weekend once and came home and wouldn't eat anything, wouldn't go outside, wouldn't drink anything but Kool-aid, wouldn't sleep at night, and would not leave my side because he was told that we were all going to die soon. This was told to him repeatedly over the one weekend. I had to deal with this fear from him for two weeks, it finally got to the point that I had to tell him I was going to spank him just to get him to take a small bite of anything. If that's what happens in just a weekend I can only imagine what happens to a person over a lifetime.

Were your kids distressed after time with JWs?
by hamsterbait ini am asking this as i think testimony from first hand could help people see what danger they leave their children in with jw baby sitters etc.. my friends let their 10 yr old daughter stay the weekend with her jw cousins.. when she came back she was having nightmares, bursting into tears, clingy (as her mother might be killed at armageddon before she got home from school).
and asking explicit sexual questions, (yes they had taken her to the kingdumb hell).
i am repeating this post as it disappeared the first time.

God Complex
by nevergonnab1 indoes it seem as though fathers of jw famlies have a god complex?
from what i've seen it seems like they will ask some of the most outrageous things of their famlies just to see if they'll do it.
i've seen for my self one of these men ask thier famlies members to walk through filthy water to get a basket ball for him when he wouldn't do it for himself, i've also seen them make their daughters lotion their feet, ect.

Advice Please!!!!
by nevergonnab1 ini'm new here so i'll give a little background first.. i've never been a witness and i'll never be one.
my husband is but he hasn't been to any functions in about 15 years, i guess if he did start attending again he would be df'd because he impregnated a "worldly" girl (me) out of wedlock and then married a "worldly" girl (me again).. i need advice because his family relentlessly asks my children to attend and bribes them with very extravagant gifts.
i won't allow them to go so they stay pissed at me because they don't get the gifts.

Thanks for all the advice so far!!!
As for the GP's telling scary stories... they told my daughter how bad and evil the world is and that she was going to be "struck down" so she wouldn't go outside and she stopped eating and drinking anything but kool aid for 2 weeks. Luckily we got past that. And now she see's it for the farce that it is. But I have a younger one who is very impressed not by the Org. but just by his grandparent.

My husband and I fight all the time because he doesn't see anything wrong with them going, and his family is always pissed at me because I won't let them go. His family knows how I feel about the issue because we discussed it length a couple of years ago. I feel as if they are doing this to cause my family to be unhappy.
Any Advice?
