Will the WT surpass the Catholic Church in Policy?

Remember it took the Catholic Church 20 yrs and multiple law suits to begin the process of releasing names. They are only doing so after extreme pressure from ALL angles. They have law suits, members of the Church pressuring them and society. The Catholic Church also has extensive political agendas to achieve. The WT perceives that it doesn't have any political agendas. Despite their whoring with the UN!

I don't see the WT releasing names without a major lawsuits. Since we know that the R&F are silenced so there is no pressure from within the social group.

Why WT Elders can't handle child abuse cases

if we walk away with nothing from this whole issue on dateline .

i think the following is so important .

let us compare the appointed elders who are asked to look into the matter of child molestation,.

Interrogated is a strong word for this maybe assessed by a trained psychologist would be more accurate. I hope for the children.

"Elders are basically Untrained volunteers" LOL...We all knew this but were told other wise, as you said, over and over again. Hmm... They only make such statements when trying to wiggle out of a tight spot. So, they must be squirming. It feels so good!

In my area many elders are college educated. Some are professors, psychologists, accountants, lawyers and too many programmers to mention. However NONE of them are trained for the special situation of child molestation. An elders lack of education, special training and experience is the issue. These one day meeting to train elders will never make them specially trained for anything. An example is the so called special training the elders received to handling battered woman's issues. It didn't help most of them they still live in the dark ages on everything to do with family issues.

jw wife stays home

my jw wife came home from work with.

a story she staying because she ate some chips and.

feeling a little sick.. i asked her if she was watching dateline.

Your right, I've known so many JWs that convince themselves they are sick to avoid service and meetings. It's learned behavior so give her a break and just be happy she is willing to watch it.

Barbara Anderson Disfellowshipped

as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.

barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.

home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.

If Dateline just exposes the silentlambs issue it's still better than nothing in mainstream media. Now that it's mainstream some aware JWs can bring it up without suspicion of apostasy. Although it is disappointing that the cult angle was cut from the program. It's still better than nothing which was available in mainstream media so far.

How Many Silent Lambs Do you Know?

i thought it would be interesting if we started count here on this board.

please list how many you know personally, then add from the previous results, to keep a running tally.

i realize it wont be an accurate count but perhaps an estimate of those that we know or are aquatinted with.. i'll start.. 3 +.

I haven't known any silent lambs but I believe you all do! I especially believe it because I know how they operate. When a "wrong doer" is accused and there aren't two witnesses and he denies the charge, the accuser is counseled for slander. Since when does a molester do his/her depraved acts it front of any witnesses let alone two. This I know for a fact, they have been doing this for all sorts of behaviors. So, it is totally believable to me. That's why I'm here!

The story, on this link, is an example of how I witnesses the elders victimizing the victim. Although it wasn't sexual abuse. When the elders silence dubs for anything it's a shame. When someone lies I tend to believe them. When someone shows a pattern of abuse; I tend to believe they are abusers. The elders tend to show a pattern of abuse by victimizing the victim. So I believe the silentlambs.

new level of family nuttiness, need advice, help

hopefully someone out there can help me with some advise or direction .

i was raised jw and disassociated 30 years ago.

my family all remains jw so i'm very used to all the usual "world is ending, you're going to die" rhetoric i've gotten from them over the years.

innout: There isn't anything YOU and your niece can do but protect yourselves from their disturbing behavior. Sometimes we have to distance ourselves from our families to protect our own sanity. You need to seek serenity.
