as most people here know the combined book study allows an evening for "family worship".. the co visits march - august 2009 is really focussing on this.
if a jdub family head doesn't do a full evening of family worship and uses this time to do recreational activities he is as guilty as isrealite who didn't use the sabbath for worship.
the result, will of course be same as the unfaithful isrealite, death!!!!!!!!!
My thougs exactly Palmtree. I'm expecting they are preparing themselves to teach at home instead at the K.H. The Governing Body can then sell all the property and land they own and get rich. While the rest study at home like good little robots, and the preching continues.

last night my grandson got a blood transfusion.
it occured to me how stupid the belief is that to "abstain from blood" refers to a transfusion.
how would you reason with someone to show that abstaining from blood would not refer to accepting a blood transfusion?.
My mom (a fanatic JW) used to eat rare steak all the time. As a kid we were learning about blood transfusions. When I saw all the blood comming from the steak I remember saying, "ewe! look at all the blood. My mom refused to acknowledge what it really was and said, "No. Its juice." I never knew there was a thing called steak juice, but as a 5 year old what else was I to believe.
After years of being out of the ORG, and being disowned by my family. I recently started to come in contact with my family again. I had dinner with my sister. (also a fanatic JW) She order steak. (rare) She said, "the bloodier the better." I couldn't help but think what a hippocrit she was, but I didn't say anything. It was the first time in 10 years I was able to talk to my sister.
JWS are so backwards they'll die before they recieve proper medical treatment, but still eat blood just as the bible teaches not to. I guess its OK if you believe that the blood is juice, but what if you just say that the transfusion bag attached to your I.V. is juice. I Guess that would be OK too!
my dad hasn't been to the convention yet but he is very excited to go.
he has been told by a friend of his who went that it is a milestone convention like cedar point, ohio and that after this, nothing will be the same again.. from what i know he is in for a disappointment.
i think they could safely call this year's assembly theme "much ado about nothing"!.
I always thought convensions were ment so that all those single brothers and sisters can find someone to start dating and get married to. Maybe it is more like "Keep on the watch" for your future spouse.
i know that in one of the talks it was mentioned that we no longer use the wording "new system" it is "new world" - did anyone else hear that and if so, can u tell me what talk it was used in?.

I'm sure the WTS realizes that anyone outside the organization might shed a little common sense on JW's. Starting them to think on their own, of course thinking on your own is a no-no in CULTS.

Did it ever, I had a full scholarship to M.I.T. and to U.T.I to study to be a mecahanical engineer. My parents said I don't have to go because armaggedon would be here before I graduated from colledge. My sister too had a full scholarship to Harvard. I am kicking myself everyday since that was well over 10 years ago.
i've thought a lot about this over the years .
bonafide's thread reminded me of this and how unethical and insensitive it was for jehovah's witnesses meetings to go on without stopping while some rank and file members were having medical emergencies right in the kingdom hall.
my experience i will never forget.. in 1983 i was among some pioneers who were giving experiences at a circuit assembly in front of a crowd of about 2,000. this 83 year old sister was standing at the microphone and when she got done with her part - she sat next to me in her chair on the stage.
My mom is JW and she was telling me how a brother giving the watchtower talk collasped into the audience!!! They paused until the ambulence came to take him to the hospital where he died but after the ambulence left they just continued with the rest of the rest of the paragraphs. ugh!

does anyone know the count of the partakers THIS year? The GB also says that no one can interpret the true meaning of the bible except through them and what they write in the watchtower. Sounds like they are demanding special treatment because they are the anointed to me.
