If someone broke into your home and just started living there and then demanded you pay them for food, housing, medical, and said they are willing to the jobs you don't want to do like the laundry and rake the leaves but you also have to learn their language you would take one look at them and say get the hell out! Thats how most Arizonians feel in the USA. We are tired of people comming into our country and thinking they deserve our goverment to help them and having "anchor babies" to give them legal citizenship and when we ask them what there legal staus is they say, Oh thats racially profiling. The USA is the greastest country in the world. If someone wants to live here they have every right to but they have to do it the right way.

The reporting of field service time
by lepermessiah inwere any of you really bothered/still bothered by the practice of field service reporting?.
there was an old post on here that got me thinking how the practice got started.. instead of simply being a tool to monitor the progress of the faith, or to see if the work was done "throughout the earth", it appears to me that it was just a tool used to keep the presses rolling and to see how much literature to produce - along with controlling the rank and file.
the average jw gives it no thought, its just another "blessing" from the organization when you hear the monthly reports, etc.. the organization is so statistics-driven that they make jesus out to be a ceo with people who need to meet their sales quotas.i'm sure he really wouldnt care if peter and andrew got 20 hours one month and john got 25. wait, maybe thats why john was "beloved" .

I told the elders when I was 15 that we shouldn't have to report time, and the time you spend out preaching should be between you and God. They also annouced who had the highest amount of time spent out in service each month. They did not like when I spoke my mind.

To those who were born in
by poopsiecakes inwhile you were a witness, did you ever play the what if game?
i would occasionally sit with my friends and wed bandy the ideas around...if we werent born in would we be interested if someone knocked at our door...would we want to go to college...would we be promiscuous.... it was interesting to hear the responses and i think about that now.
one thing i always knew was that if someone knocked at my door a) chances are i wouldnt answer and b) although i would be polite, i would not have any interest whatsoever.

Good question. I will only have my answer by watching my son grow up and see what he does. (That's as close to an answer I can get)
