Was grocery shopping this past Sunday and my bread was on special for $2.88 per loaf. I like the Country Harvest Ancient Grains.
I guarantee you I make way more than $2.88 per day.
post photographic evidence of dubs' false prophecies.
i'll start:.
the preaching work will conclude in the 20th century.

it is rather clear that the internet is to put it mildly, wrecking the world of the watchtower bible & tract society.
if not for foreign language i doubt there would be much growth at all.. digital trends and analytics are very real.
i live this analytics world i assure you to some degree you can take it to the bank.
Hadriel said: It absolutely does break up families.
I can attest to that. But then, they can brag they are following Jesus' example in the Bible at:
Matthew 10:35: For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. - NIV
none of you are old enough to have been there, i suspect.
i had been in prison two years as a jw conscientious objector when the exciting news about 1975 spread like wildfire.i was paroled from prison in 1969 and immediately began pioneering.
the pressures began mounting throughout the organization.
I was 12. My maternal grandmother was dying of bone cancer. Armageddon was not really something we thought of during that time because all of us were deeply grieving. She knew she was gravely ill too. This was the first of many significant family illnesses and deaths for me. All of my family born on or before 1914 have passed away. Not one of them saw 'the end of this system of things and paradise Earth'.
But fast forward 7 years and Mom is trying to convince me and my younger bro that we shouldn't be planning to go to College because we won't be needing careers due to Armageddon's imminence.
That period of time, from age 10 to 19 was pivotal for me. I began doubting the existence of God or at least, the claims religion made about God. I had also figured out I could not be a JW due to the misogyny, disagreement with the Watchtower's interpretation of scripture, their constant extension beyond scripture, and the blood policy just to name a few.
One of the biggest issues I have with the whole 1975 debacle is that Watchtower actually had the gall to blame the R&F JWs for 'running ahead of the organization' at expecting Armageddon to arrive in 1975. WTF?!
Watchtower's legacy isn't a very stellar one, is it?
for me, the dead giveaway is this.
jesus wrote nothing.. stop and think about that.. if jesus were the authentic messiah, his ministry would not simply be local.. his instructions, his mission, the details of his teachings would be too precious to risk leaving it in the hands of "men unlettered (illiterate) and ordinary (blue-collar yokels).".
jesus, were he the one and only hope of mankind, would be absolutely certain to write down with great simplicity and specificity the exact owner's manual necessary to rescue mankind.. never happened!.
Terry said: For me, the dead giveaway is this. Jesus wrote nothing.
Terry, this was another moment for me regarding religion and the belief in God. If Jesus was as important as claimed to be and if he was truly interested in starting a global movement, I think he would have written something down or at least employed a scribe to be with him to do it.
Another 'ah hah' moment for me was finding out that NONE of the authors of the Bible ever met Jesus and that the gospels were written well after the events occurred by people who were not there but wrote it in Greek, not Aramaic.
today is friday.
so let's see something refreshing on the new june 2016 study wt.
tight pants!.

stuck, you hit the nail on the head here. Browbeating is part of the Borg's 'modus operandi'. It nauseates me.
in the 18th century the calculations of archbishop james ussher regarding the age of the earth were still accepted without question.
according to ussher god made the earth at 6pm on the evening of saturday 22nd october 4004 b.c.. this naive certainty was to become a victim of the scottish enlightenment and the brilliant mind of james hutton.
having qualified as a medical doctor in 1749 hutton returned to the family farm in berwickshire not far from where i am typing this now.
Excellent read cofty.
The Grand Canyon in Arizona, U.S.A. is another example of 'deep time'. It is an "excellent record of three of the four eras of geological time, a rich
and diverse fossil record, a vast array of geologic features and rock
types, and numerous caves containing extensive and significant
geological, paleontological, archeological, and biological resources. It
is considered one of the finest examples of arid-land erosion in the
world."
For those of us who were raised to believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old, these actual monuments of 'deep time' are there, right in front of us, as evidence that this religious theory is bogus.
in the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..
As younger kids, for some reason, we were not supposed to watch The Flintstones or Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour however we did anyway. Mum didn't really like it but didn't stop us either which was weird.
My cousin 'stuck with the Watchtower' and refused a blood transfusion. She died.
the topic of circumcision has been brought up a few times recently.
then i wondered... .
how do women really view circumcision?
Wonderment said: It is hard to understand why some people react so strongly against the practice
I suspect you are unfamiliar with the ancient rituals of both male and female circumcision. You may want to research them to understand the outrage.
Circumcision should only be done if there is a medical need to do it.
i recently enjoyed this series of yale lectures on youtube about the hebrew bible.. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=plfbxb0kkaycq2hf6jlccdn6z47ysyxscw.
i really liked the woman doing them and she had a lot of knowledge.
it does seem quite rare to have such university lectures available.
Thank you for sharing this cobweb... I will add it to my list for viewing.
I think it's fascinating to compare what we have been told about the Bible versus actual origins and history. Many Christians haven't even read the Bible. Most of us have been maneuvered through this book by the religions we were/are a part of.
One big truth for me was discovering that this book is really a compilation of different writings by different authors, written over a period of 1000+ years and that NOT ONE author ever met Jesus.
Another one is Bart Ehrman's work on the comparative analysis of the 4 gospels. These 4 books form a large part of the Christian belief system. They were not written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They were not written at the time the events occurred, but much later. And they contradict one another, so much so, that you come away with the conclusion that much of the foundation for the Christian religion is false.
