in some ways i am add....bouncing from thing to thing...i think i have always been a bit add, even as an kid.....never diagnosed formally, but i have the symptoms.. being a jw, especially an elder, did not help that one little bit.

i was always busy doing something as a jw...field service, "studying" for meetings or some part, elder business, helping others in the congo, etc.

i rarely took the time to just unwind, relax, do something for myself..... i was always worried about doing something for others.. on the other hand, on some things, i will be ultra focused on what i am doing to the point that i will let 8 hours go by and have to be reminded to go eat....this was the case when i was a billing specialist.. i would be in the middle of some fascinating adjustment (i love numbers, data analysis, stats, etc.

How much physical activity do you do? Having a real good physical workout can quell a lot of hyperness. I suggest avoiding high sugar foods and caffeine. Chamomile tea is calming.

I think your GF has a good suggestion as well. A detoxification may help quite a bit. I've used Dr. Natura and had some good results with it. I would like to do another one since it has been 2 years.

I can't take this pain anymore...my life at dead end

my life has reached to a dead end...i'm stuck and there is no way out.

i was inactive for 6 years and i'm disfellowshiped for the past 3. i would never think that my life would have been in this terrible mess.. .

i wasn't planned to be disfellowshiped by my "wife" turned me in to the elders for apostasy 2 times!!!

i vote for going to a therapist and doctor and definitely for starting a new life. you only live once.

I'm with joelingeorgia. Figure out what you want in life. Present it to your wife. You need to sit down with her and have a heart to heart. You may need to do this with a facilitator/marriage counselor. If she is not supportive of it, then you need to design your life without her. She is not exhibiting True North Principles, which I find a lot of JWs don't, and this will only negatively impact your children as well as you. Parental actions are noticed by children. The children may emulate the behaviours and if they are not True North, then they will start to have issues as well.

Nothing positive can result in staying in any abusive relationship, including religious and marital.

"..........................how many times have you heard that?............jehovah`s witness you know..know you don`t go to meetings,assemblys or anything else wbt$ related......still they feel the need to tell you "you know it`s the truth!.........................you tell them,you don`t..they insist that you do!

!..you continue to tell them you don`t..............they get pissed and tell you:"deep inside you know it`s really the truth!!

Ask them to show you the proof in the Bible. Then you can say:

"No where in the Bible does it say the WTS is the Truth. What it DOES say is that Jesus Christ is The Truth."

Some help please- advice

i have a problem.

i knew this would come up but what has me questioning myself is where some of my resistance is coming from.. my wife and i have a baby on the way in nov. (a little girl) anyway my mom immediately started applying pressure to me to go back to meeting and of course to attend the convention.

that is not the surprise.

No. This won't keep your mother happy or off your back -- it will only be the beginning of a constant nag to return to something you are not sold on. Do not set a precedence.

If someone defines their happiness by what other people do, they have personal issues that they need to address.

You and your wife need to discuss how you wish to raise your daughter. There is no need to be associated with any Church, imo. I find they all have their own man-made agendas, especially the WTS, that I cannot align with. I believe you have the same issues with them. So this is a personal choice between you and your wife.

My brother and his wife raised 3 incredible kids and they never went to Church. They taught them values, morals, and principles all on their own. To me, the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible are the foundation to this. I suggest that you and your wife design your own course of action when it comes to raising your daughter. As always, I recommend Stephen Covey's books. He has one for Families - "7 Habits of Highly Effective Families".

To have a full, positive, and rewarding life, we must focus on all 4 areas of human need: To Live (Physical), To Love (Emotional), To Learn (Mental) and To Leave A Legacy (Spiritual). Using True North Principles as one's foundation will lay the groundwork to accomplish wonderful things in life. Covey's "First Things First" is also excellent.

The end of the world

I tend to agree with mindmelda. I hope the nastier stuff goes away and the good stuff remains. What I do know is that change is part of the order of things. Everything is in motion. Let's hope we can change for the better and move toward good things.

PEC has a very good point as well. So far, no one has ever been able to prove that God exists. I'm still waiting for the proof. We can 'believe' and we can 'hope', but there is no 'proof' (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Soooo.... if God doesn't exist, then how can the world end at his hand? If he does exist, what I feel from my reading of the Bible is that this whole Earth and Human experience has been a 'work in progress' even with regards to God and how he has handled things. It's a nice 'idea' that he'll end all the bad things...and then I look beyond that. So then what? A lot of good comes from bad from my observations. Can you have good without bad? What is an existence without the alter piece (no night, just day; no bad, just good; no death, just life). Many things that exist today will have to cease as one cannot exist without the other. Right around this point my brain starts short circuiting and I need chocolate or alcohol or a punching bag.

All I can suggest is that you live your life using True North Principles and that you do things that lift your spirits and help you grow positively. Ensure you nurture the 4 areas of human need: To Live (Physical), To Love (Emotional), To Learn (Mental), and To Leave A Legacy (Spiritual). Don't live your life waiting for the Big A to happen.

What have the JWs witnessed?

a witness is a person present at an event and able to give information regarding that event.

my question is: what event have the jws witnessed that classifys them as witnesses of jah?.

have the jws actually witnessed anything?.
