Divergent, you did an excellent job with your statements.
Several years ago I had a discussion with a couple of Christian Support Workers at my Dad's nursing home. At the end of our conversation one of them said "I will pray for you." as obviously, I wasn't a believer.
I can honestly say, her prayers aren't working. To this day, I remain unconvinced in the existence of any Sky Daddy spirit-being.

It's a good question though as my cousin who hasn't spoken to me in over 7 years recently emailed me twice. So far there has been no mention of the religion in his correspondence though. I wonder if it will in any future ones.

they came to my door to find me with a full beard and a nightmare before christmas hoody, playing a video game where the characters "do not act according to bible principles", and i happily answered the door.
i simply smiled and told them no when they asked if i have a minute.

Interesting. Does anyone know what condition his health is in?
Perhaps being dragged through the ARC and his old, ailing Father who should have seen Armageddon arrive already, have been enough (among many other things that have gone on as of late) for him to have doubts.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... with the many changes that this religion has seen over many decades, any long term JW has got to be scratching their heads and wondering. It would not surprise me if a lot have serious doubts.

So the governing body is NOT inspired...are they still "spirit directed"?
by NikL inokay there has been lots of buzz about the feb 2017 wt where they say the governing body is not inspired nor infallible.
yet, they are still using the baptism questions.
the second one being... "do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah’s witnesses in association with god’s spirit-directedorganization?".
