  Occupations that will disappear

  while growing up in the cult one thing that always bothered me was the way witnesses could forecast jobs/occupations that we're going to vanish in their new world.. for example, we would usually discuss at saturday night wt studies how doctors, nurses, funeral directors, and soldiers would go the way of the dodo.

  i always found discussions like that just so strange.. in hs, i mounted an unsuccessful effort to enter veterinary sciences, the big answer was always "why" it won't be needed after armageddon 😝😜.

  does anyone have their own story about professions that the witnesses believe will not be needed after the big a ?.

  A Mathematic Perspective on Evolution

  i would like to apologize in advance if any of my information on the biology side of this discussion is incorrect, because unfortunately it is not my strongest scientific subject on account of my being subtly encouraged to view it with distrust.. i've recently debated the of subject of evolution with my father, i made the argument that when viewed over several million years random mutation provides a more than adequate explanation for humans having evolved from a common ancestor with chimpanzees.

  then he got this derisive look on his face a waved his hand saying "evolution's explanation for everything is the amount of time involved.".

  so i decided i would examine this mathematically.

  Many a summer night, I've laid in bed with the window open listening to the crickets thinking 'Those lucky bastards. They get more than I do!' Hahaha! I can't imagine summer without the crickets 'singing' at night. I actually like the sound.

  Saethydd, clearly, your Father is uneducated about evolution. Perhaps it is time he read an actual science book on the subject.

  Time is only 1 factor and can actually be a relatively short duration for some evolutionary changes instead of billions of years. Are you familiar with the crickets who went silent on the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai and Oahu?

  a couple of examples of scriptures hardly ever quoted is 1 tim.

  2:12- "i do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence".

  or verse 11- "let a woman learn in silence with full submissiveness.".

  so the other day someone asked me what use was it to make the list of countries in which there have been reports.... well... to know that, as far as i can tell, there has never been preaching done in oman.. it has never appeared in any report, and the reports go back to 1926!.

  all other countries and lands have appeared, but not oman.. so there... first useful fact about the watchtower that we can get from 90 years of data..

  Now I'm Convinced There Probably Is No God

  yesterday i made a visit to the museum in my city.

  the top floor is the planetarium, which has a connecting room with a huge dome ceiling where they project lessons and lectures and you have a 360 view of the night sky etc.. this particular lecture explained about our galaxy, and how it's only one of billions in the universe.

  and then we learned about each planet, some of their moons and the sun.

  i have often seen many categorise the organisation in different ways.

  some say cult, some say high control religion.

  Cult because they use B.I.T.E. (Behaviour, Information, Thought, Emotion) control methods.
  

  I told my Father a few years ago:

  "Any organization that does not allow you to have anything to do with your family or friends who refuse to join said organization is a cult."

  He didn't like what I said but had no rebuttal.

  after much research and prayer i am returning to being a jehovah's witness i can find nothing that eliminates them from being god's directed people , in the end they will reach the end of there journey despite mistakes and errors just like the israelites entered the promised land , thanks for your input and all the best on your personal journey ☺.
