just wondering what questions you might ask an active jw following the july broadcast and the 10 minutes addressing child sex abuse?
or is it even worth the trouble.
I will say as I have mentioned to some elders when we were having this subject discussed at the elders school that this is because it's prevalent and there have been cases of elders/bethelite being taken to court due to child abuse. I was a Bethelite so sometimes my comments are credited to knowing stuff due to that.
To one elder I had said we've been blaming christendom for the same thing thats been happening right among us.
Brothers we can conclude that since the bible never says Satan is joyous but that Jehovah is the happy God and Hosea 11:10 depics him as a lion.... Or Rev 5:5 Jesus the lion of the tribe of Judah, that this single brother is watching jw broadcasting or researching on how to remain single.
Show us what he is looking at already!
6 weeks ago some jws came to my door.
i've been inactive for 8 years.
after they gave their presentation i told them i was inactive.
Perhaps you may be as many of us were when we first got hooked, vunerable, dissapointed, no friends..e.t.c. Seems grass is greener there but you'll be meeting a lot of us on our way out, disappointed, drained worse than before we got involved with jdubs. You don't need everything to be fine in the world, just your world and what you make of it and where you focus. There are ups and downs wherever.
Make some new friends who are not judgemental and demanding. (as all youll find it in the organization are paper thin "friends" who when troubles hit you'll be on your own, especially since you've been inactive before).
Locally the circuit overseer discovered a three year old letter in the files written by a disappointed jdub who left and no elder has gone to check on her...and now even some months after the c.o asked them to. No exclamation mark.
They never came looking for you out of friendship or care before, even those who knew you. They may do so as now the organisation is directing them to.

In the "God's love" book chapter 16 pg 191. Oppose the Devil and his crafty acts, they say; "by circulating stories about the exploits of the demons, one PROMOTES the interests of Satan.... Since Satan is the archdeciever, he knows how to influence the minds... and how to make them believe things that are not true. Who was the focus of our attention?

i know being a witness for 33 years and not celebrating b/days you do lose the habit , but i thought one of them would have remembered ?

Sorry. Can't really blame others for forgetting. Brain wash strikes again! Ive been a jdub since 80's. Two years ago I couldn't figure out why a date seemed important, it was only in the afternoon when I realized it was my own birthdate!
A month ago my wife has forgotten too, haven't confronted her yet. However two other fading sisters remembered and txtd me as a few months ago we bought one her birthday cake which my wife and I spent time with her celebrating while tearing down the borg.

if satan is the greatest apostate there is, why he was allowed to be in heaven?
job chapters 1 and 2 says that jehovah talked to him.
wasn't jehovah supposed to shun his son and set an example to all parents?.
Had the same thoughts when I decided to read Crisis!. ...That, if Jesus listened to Stan the greatest apostate's arguments, trickery and was able to defend himself by using only the scriptures.... Shouldn't we too be able and ready to face apostates, since we are the most educated "truth" defenders, ones who would do greater works than Christ? Also to be "always ready to make a defense before EVERYONE that demands of you a reason for the hope in you." 1Pet 3:15.

True. It's not a bible based rule. Scriptures somehow are not called to mind when pioneering goal is bombarded to us, made to feel its urgent and shown by "example" others were having in "Jehovah supporting them"
"Take good care not to practice your righteousness in front of men to be observed by them; otherwise you will have no reward with your Father who is i the heavens... Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing... " Mat 6:3. What IS stressed is verse 33 of the same chapter.
Even the fact that the disciples returned with their "report" that even demons were made subject" to them, Jesus hadn't required them to hand in their detail reports, it is just something they said in wonderment.
Take away the requirement of giving of field reports, experience at meetings and assemblies, the applauds and constant praise one will get, the added "priviledges" then opened to such, who in their right mind would pioneer?
Perhaps at the assemblies experience they should include asking if the pioneer is meeting his hours.

One parent in our congregation has two daughters getting into their 30's pioneering while he's reaching retirement age. The sisters don't know how to get jobs and one could'nt keep her first and only job, so have been unemployed. His comments at the meetings are often "pioneering is the best job this side of the system." The one who studied with me years back used to say the same about bethel, cause his son was a bethelite. How we try and justify our being misdirected into slavery!

i've been doing a lot of research about mind control, cults etc which led me to look into the world and beliefs of mormons.
the similarities between jw's and mormons are staggering!
it's almost a carbon copy which only a few differences.. did the jw's set out to copy them i wonder?
