  it is designed to reduce a child's self-concept to the point where the victim considers.

  tell us a little about yourself and your family.. wife left me when i decided to become a jehovah's witness.. daughter left same time i did when disfellowshipped for sending a snail mail letter to every single jw address i had.. my daughter lived with me one week then her mother the next.. she won a scholarship for having the highest marks in her high school during the graduating year.. she is now in her 4th year of university living with two other students.. .

  "Overseeing material assets" comes first in the GBs list of priorities.

  before i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.

  during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.

  as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.

  The elders meeting at lunchtime during the circuit assembly or special day is usually to agree that any 'surplus' gets donated to the branch.

  The society puts a nominal charge of say £4 per publisher per day, so the "cost" to host a special day assembly for 7 congregations of 100 publishers is 7*100*4 = £2,800.

  So the special assembly day accounts start at negative £2,800, (announced as a "deficit"). This encourages the brothers & sisters to donate more. Even if the congregations have sent in their contributions already, you don't have to do the final sums until after the assembly has finished, so there's no point announcing the "cost" has already been covered.

  Also bear in mind that the "cost" has nothing to do with the actual running costs of the day. Really, how many expenses can a mortgage free assembly hall have? Energy, cleaning materials & toilet paper.

  If the assemblys did not make a profit, the society would simplify them out of existance.
