Favorite MOVIE SCENE - any genre - your pick!
by AWAKE&WATCHING in.
i realized i was hi-jacking another thread so i thought i would start my own topic.. one of my favorite movie scenes is the "to tip or not to tip" scene in reservoir dogs.
i don't care for all the blood in tarantino movies but he is, without a doubt, a genius.. .

The False Prophet Nathan?
by brotherdan inmy mom is addicted to the wts.
i've recently brought up the many false prophecies and she calls almost every week to show me new things that the society has said about false prophets and how they are not one.. the latest was the account where king david wanted to build god a temple.
he told nathan the prophet about his idea and nathan basically said, well god is with you, you should do it.

I have recently had the awake intro thrown at me by others as well. Claiming it as some sort of declaration of inspiration when it is clearly just badly put grammer concerning already written bible promises from Jehovah of a peaceful world from Isaiah and Psalms etc.
LOL, they aren't false prophets, they are just terrible at English.
gotcha. ;)

Disrespect of the Bible
by brotherdan ini am going to get a lot of flack for this post, but i need to do it.
i want to preface this by saying that i don't judge any of you and i believe in the right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, including your freedom to not practice one.. however, i'm finding a trend among some ex jws here.

Hell...do you ever mock scientologists or Mormons? (Or JWs now...)
A little humor makes the world go 'round. If you can roll with the punches, rather than taking people's digs at your own personal "sacred cows" as a personal affront, you'll have alot less anxiety.

I'm trying to think really hard about this....
The one that keeps popping in my head is the scene from office space where they take the printer out in the field and Die MotherF*cker Kill Fool is playing...

High-Five, A&W. I love pretty much any Tarantino movie.

I've always tipped well, and now even better since I've been working as a part time bartender in addition to my 9 to 5 job.
Bottom line is if you can't afford 15-20% then stay home. No need to go all "Mr. Pink" on the wait staff who is making nothing just because you disagree with the system. Go be a revolutionary somewhere else.
The exception of course, is bad service. That's their/our job. If it's done poorly, that should be reflected in the tip.

Man I feel bad that you're feeling this way.
Your post focused mostly on the people, that's a good thing. But the fact is that you see these same type of people whether in or out of any sort of organization. It's not any better in the JWs, but it might be a good bit worse on the bad end.
I continue to be amazed at the people I meet in the "world" all the time. Just starting my life apart from the organization but already I've made better friends than the ones who would side with an organization over me every time.
So you already know the organization is crap, but the people have a hold on you. I say give the world a chance, maybe just a little at a time, even while still being a JW. Reach out to co-workers and acquaintences, and prepare for good times. :)

I wouldn't trust those Komodo dragons. They bite hard and just plain look evil. They would have free roam on the Ark guarantee.
Or dragons of any sort. One sneeze and it's all "Oh the humanity!!!!"

Superpunk, I deduced your lack of bible knowledge based on your past posts about it. If it looks like a dog and smells like a dog... it's probably Outlaw
Please don't confuse my dismissal of ridiculous biblical apologetics with ignorance. I simply realize (upon such examination) that biblical apologetics are made of the same stuff as WT apologetics.
