Anytime someone starts going on about how dangerous vaccines are my eyes roll back into my head and I can't help but remember all th experiences given at the meeting where so-and-so got a blood transfusion and 13 years later died of herpes because of it.

Yeah, medical procedures are risky alot of times and it's good to educate yourselves about them. But by and large, all these conspiracy theories that are out to discredit the medical field are just something that's put out there by fear-mongering profiteers.

What is your definition of a "Fundi" or a Fundamentalist?

i've been called a "fundi" many times in my discussions with people on the board, and i'd like to know what your definition is of a "fundi".

i just want to hear your personal definition.. i find it interesting because i don't go to any church.

Has anyone researched the prophecies regarding Edom? Those were very clearly written before the event, and archeology has proven that the events match the Bible exactly.

Or even the prophecies regarding the desolation of Egypt, which were definitely written before Egypt was desolated, since...well that never happened (and probably never will). Fingers crossed, I guess.

Also I think you are re-writing the definition of "clearly written before" in your assertion.

now is a good time to start making preparations for the memorial night demonstration at your kingdom hall sunday, april 17, 2011, after sundown.

the evils of the watchtower org.have to be exposed and this is an ideal time to do it.

many around the world have been adversely affected by their association with jehovah's witnesses.

lol @ protesting being "inappropriate". Yeah god forbid anyone put a blight on cult proceedings with peaceful protest.

I think if there were enough protests, and big enough, it would get decent media attention. Could be something to appear in the local paper. Which may not do anything for indoctrinated cult members, but might inform other members of the community what this cult is really all about the next time they come knocking at the doors.

Different strokes, but as long as noone's getting hurt I don't see how drawing attention to the awful practices of this cult on their "most sacred night" is inappropriate at all.

Did you do very early morning field service?

in my old congregation, there was a group of dubs who started field service at 4am - yes, that's 4 o'clock in the morning.

i went with them on a few occasions.. to be ready, you'd have to be up at least 3:30am to get washed and dressed and maybe get a bite to eat.. at 4am, our designated driver would show up along with a couple of sleepy eyed jws trying to "get their time in.

" many times we'd go pick up a jw only to find they forgot about service and overslept.. .

definitely did the laundromat route early in the morning. ATMs is brilliant you can waste a ton of time driving around AND not talking to anyone which is a double bonus and I wish I had thought of it!

Last night I made a request, and it was granted in an unexpected way. It wasn't exactly what I had asked for, but it was exactly what I needed.

However, if I ask my Lord for clarification on something and I hear "read John" or I hear, "Love will guid you, open your heart" or I hear, "trust in me for I am there for you always", then I cna safely say, depending on the situation, that Christ is "answering" my prayers.

Jesus is so vague.

He's like the Yoda of deities.

Yes, in a way that they can relate.

BUT and this is a crucial BUT, we have to be careful as to WHICH voice we are hearing, there is only ONE voice and that is the voice of Christ and that voice CAN NOT lead to pain, fear, hate, intolerance and can ONLY lead to love.

Any othe voice is to be disregarded.

So your solution to conflicting answers to prayers would be that they are not hearing JEsus voice, they are hearing someone else's...whoever that is, and why Jesus can't make himself heard over them, I suppose we'll table for now. It seems odd that this sort of "love-checking" is necessary. The process ought to go, ask Jesus a question, get an answer. But in your solution, you've got to ask Jesus something, get an answer, then love-check it to make sure that this is actually an answer from Jesus and not some imposter-deity who is flitting about giving misleading information.

Obviously the possibility still exists (on possibly trivial matters) that believers can ask for answers, receive two different answers from alleged-Jesus, both answers pass the love-test, but they do both conflict. Therefore the four conclusions still stand, someone is lying, or someone is just making things up, or Jesus is messing with his followers.

IF you're all worshipping the same guy and IF you all purport to communicate directly with him THEN there should not be this conflict of opinion on even the smallest of matters. If the conflict exists, you're all either not worshipping the same guy, not having actual communication with him, or you're all just making it up. Trying to twist your inability to agree into some sort of virtue is just special pleading.
