California Girl Abducted, Held and Raped for 18+ years by a possible Jehovah's Witness couple?
by skeeter1 innews just broke that a pretty, blond 11 year old girl adbucted 18+ years ago was found.
her kidnapper kept her hidden for 18+ years, had 2 kids with her, and was picked up handing out religious literature at a college.
now, it surfaces that he has ties with the jehovah's witnesses.

I am having some reservations about Barbara Anderson
by JWoods inrecently, there was a very nice thread in which one of our posters apologized for having the temerity to challenge barbara anderson.. i thought it was very nice to see that they made up and put the personal stuff aside.. however, i felt the need to call it like i really feel it - i was very put off by the barbara anderson reply in which she plugged her new promotional meeting.
it brought back memories of that horrid little affair from a couple of years back when she kept posting up "the greatest new thing about blood which will bring down the watchtower society is just around the corner -- and i could tell you but then i would have to kill you, etc."..
just like another jehovah's witnesses prophecy about the coming of the lord in our time.. i am beginning to wonder if perhaps the siren song of self-promotion is getting a little too strong for real life.. ok. i said it.. james - and saying it was not the easiest thing that i have ever done.

Judge Bans Shunning
by Farkel intoday i spoke with a former jw i've been in touch with for several years and discovered what i think could be a major bombshell for the wts.
as we all know, shunning is the most powerful weapon the wt cult has over its members and for decades the wts has been able to get away with practicing it at their whim.
the us and other courts have permitted them to to use it, even though it destroys families and has ruined countless lives.

im sorry i really dont have the time to read through the whole thing
but
i realize this ruling can apply to children, but doesn't it also prove the destructive and demonizing effect of the shunning arrangment in the JWs? Maybe no one can rule based on it with regards to adults, but it doesnt prove something doesnt it?

also " no salesman" , " no harkers" etc.
in my congo it was the policy to ignore these completly, the poor people who just wanted to be left alone never had a chance.. i on the otherhand used to use it as an exhuse to fast forward on to the next house and finish up the ministry quicker.... what was your experiance?.

No tresspassing should be enough, they had a notice years ago from the society they must respect this sign.
no soliciting is not enough, as what they do doesnt consistently fall under "solicitation" legally.
and sorry, if you cant spend a second to talk to your neighbor, its ridiculous. Tell them you arent interested, tell them never to come back, etc....
people SHOULD be able to approach their neighbors with information. It's a right in the USA - so even the poorest can spread their voice if needed. dealing with JWs is an unfortunate side effect of that, but DEAL.

What JW apologist do not understand.
by Anti-Christ inthe more i read the comments made by jw who still "believe" in the doctrines of the wt the more i see that they are in denial.
first off they debate on a board they are not even supposed to be on, they are going directly against the gb counsel.
when they debate they do not give the actual wt doctrine as an example they give their own personal opinion, their own interpretation a watered down version of the doctrine to make it look better, less aggressive.

well - im not a JW, and i never plan on becoming one again. however, i will not simply dismiss all of their beliefs because SOME things they do are f\*king insane, and their organization is mostly to blame.
i say it how it is, as i try to see it how it is. And that means sometimes butting heads with
1. people who think JWs do everything right
2. people who think JWs do everything wrong
and getting labelled an "apologist" and an "apostate" at the same time.
lay the f off the labelling.

by angel eyes injust want to know why some of you,not all,please dont think im meaning all of you because that truly isnt the case,claim to be happy for leaving the truth,being df etc yet you continue to speak about jehovah or attack him or the organisation??
even for many years after.. this would show that your hurt by them df you.
when someone we love hurts us its natural to want to hurt them back because we have feelings for them.so im thinking that many have love for jehovah still??

you will find that many ex-jws cannot move on, and that is quite obviously the motivation behind what they do here. There is VERY little new information posted here anymore, its just the same old bashing - under the guise of "helping" people.
If jws want the help, they can find all the info on here and on other sites. Might as well close this forum to further discussion, as it was proposed last year.
But, they dont because it is kinda like another religion - they still retain the cultish and bad qualities of their former captors. its quite sad, really.

well the only issue is that didnt jesus refer to the pharisees as a "wicked generation" ? and they certainly lasted more than 30 years, no?
that is what the "new light" was based on.
