look up those unions, you'll see how most are from 2002 till now.
last sept the european union was ratified.
i believe next step is into 3, american, european, asia/pacific.

Yes, I can totally see the middle eastern countries buying into a global world government. They could all be integrated within weeks, maybe a couple months at most. You can tell the US is already deep in it - not only does it house the UN Headquarters, but just look at how the US wouldn't even think of starting a war these days without it coming directly from the UN teet - the forerunner of the upcomming world government.
Clearly all world governments really want is to relinquish their independent power and form a Super-Best-Friends-Forever club. I think that's just common sense, and I bet it all happens just in time for them to declare "Peace and Security" on December 21, 2012.

here on jehovahs-witness.net i have come across theists, atheists and those that are agnostic that all claim to be friends because they're ex-witnesses like it is all that is needed for religious unity.. .
why isn't this on the ad?.
because every atheist i've talked to believes jehovah's witnesses are just another organization of stupid adults with imaginary friends, just a splinter of mainstream christianity a lot like the branch davidians.
To those who condemn Jehovah's Witnesses for “shunning” and then condemn them for not shunning, you can't have it both ways. This is just another attempt to dehumanize a person and make them harshly judgmental and robotic. JWs are not robots that “obey orders.” They also are influenced by human emotions, whether good or bad.
JW's will freely and openly judge a man for having a beard (such a person cannot even 'handle a microphone'),
... but cover the tracks of a pedophile (parents will not, and SHOULD NOT be warned).
Am I wrong? Is that not the Watchtower policy?

approximately five weeks ago, i visited the local library and searched every book i could find that discusses the destruction of jerusalem in ancient times.
if you didn't see that thread, you can find it here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/192813/1/607-b-c-e-a-trip-to-the-local-library-with-pictures.
the results were conclusive: all secular sources agree that jerusalem was destroyed in 587/586 bce.
No-doubt books in that same library provide definitions for the word "generation" that have been equally distorted by Satan and his wicked demons.

for those who haven't read the book awakening of a jehovah's witness by diane wilson, i highly recommend it.
she covers so much - not only her touching personal experiences, but a host of "hard proof" as she quotes from wt publications.. .
here's one statement that diane exposed on the subject of rape.
Damn. I had a point in there. I'm afraid it was lost after too many edits and not enough proof-reading.
At any rate, in spite of what other posters have said - I think defending one's faith is a fine way of determining it's strength.

OK then, an easy way to handle rapists whether they're sorry for their crime or not is with (power tools) a pair of pliers and a blowtorch. The first punishment that comes to most people's minds for rape is castration. How do you think we should deal with these people?
That is exactly the sort of thing that, through open discussion, law, and politics, we as humans are tryingy to determine. It is a difficult, and on-going process - and it's not something that anybody has the answer to right now. We, as a society, are still growing - still learning who we are, what science and technology can and can't do for us - and how to treat those who could be our own brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters - who doing terrible things.
The 'space' of solutions in law and justice hasn't been fully explored yet, and sometimes technology increases the available space to explore. We have the technology now to put tracking bracelets on people, and video surveillance in their homes. Is that something we can use to reduce crime? Would we want to?
Will we someday have the technology to directly erase or reinforce neural pathways in our brains? Could we use it to 'remove' criminal thought patterns? Would we want to? If a criminal asked us to do it so he wouldn't hurt someone again, would we do it?
Is the key to eliminating violent crime removing privacy? Is their any system we could trust to have that information on us? Why or why not?
These are difficult questions that we are working toward determining for ourselves. The WT is not interested in these solutions, of course - it's interested in promoting a blind, unchanging, bronze-age mentality that doesn't work in the real world. (Unless you think showing 'understanding' towards a rapist will somehow negatively reinforce his neural patterns enough that he doesn't rape again...)

Times have changed.
What you are trying to avoid saying is: Human morals have improved.
Without any guidance from God or the bible, human society has realized:
Granted, there are still individuals who still grapple with or reject these concepts - But what will we realize tomorrow? What will be obvious and accepted by the majority tomorrow that we all still grapple with today? Where will the line finally be set regarding homosexuality? Abortion? Torture? Our society has progressed to the point that we are drawing moral lines over the appropriate treatment of animals... while the OT spent chapters dealing on how best to kill them for God's pleasure.
The WT claims that God's standards are set high and are constant, while society's standards plummet - but the reality contrdicts that. Compared to God's nation of Israel we have it great. We don't worry that a random accusation will end with us being stoned to death in the streets (stoning is a slow and deliberately painful death - a form of torture). We still have a long way to go - but thanks to the enlightenment, modern philosophies, open debate, and modern science - we are progressing forward.
God's standards in the Old Testament fall well short of the standards we've set for ourselves, and already the New Testament is showing it's age and inadequacies as a moral guide as well. So yes - we can look at what was written in the OT and say it is 'disgusting'. It falls well short of what we - through our suffering - have determined "good moral guidance' to be. And next week, the same will be said of the NT.

Is it the WT statement on rape that is disgusting or the Bibles? Keep in mind, this is the Mosaic law, not the new covenant:
Both.

Rapists:
"treat him understandingly", "he's only human" - Awake: February 22, 1984 p. 24
Non-believers ("apostates"):
"True Christians ... "feel a loathing" toward those who have made themselves God's enemies"- Watchtower 1993 November 1 p.19
"The obligation to hate lawlessness also applies to all activity by apostates. Our attitude toward apostates should be that of David, who declared: "Do I not hate those who are intensely hating you…" - Watchtower 1992 July 15 pp.12-13
Evidently, it is preferable in the eyes of the Watchtower's god for someone to rape an innocent woman or child than to point out hypocrisy, failures, and/or inconsistencies of the Watchtower's leaders (men) or doctrines (men's ideas). (You certainly won't see the WT suggesting that people who leave the org are 'only human' and 'no doubt there were circumstances that led them away', etc.)
I'm not even twisting things - that really is how they think. Ruined lives are less important to the GB than their failed attempt at interpreting the bible - and they make it even more clear by how they handle abuse.
It is disgusting.

the manipulation of information - jehovah's witnesses official web site.
"by clever and persevering use of propaganda even heaven can be represented as hell to the people, and conversely the most wretched life as paradise.
" adolf hitler, mein kampf.
While under the direction of God's Spirit, none of Jehovah's Witnesses, the Governing Body included receive any divine revelations that explain Bible matters.
So.. they are "directed under his spirit"... but not receiving any special direction from him.
Makes a whole lot of sense.
