How do people know that they're part of the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class?
I once was talking with a doctor of psychology (he primarily focused on people with brain injuries, so this wasn't his expertise) and he told me of a number of "regional paranoid delusions". A common example - in Texas his colleagues encounter patients who believe themselves JFK's assassin... which is uncommon elsewhere.
It is my theory that being 'anointed' is just another paranoid delusion - more-less exclusive to the witness social order. Some crazy people claim they killed JFK.. some claim the are Jesus himself... some claim they've been hand-picked by Jesus to rule with him.
I really think it's no more complex than that. Part of the ego needs recognition and attention, and so it invents the "heavenly calling". (And just because a person is mentally sound in some ways doesn't mean they cannot also be bat-shit insane in others.)

It's even worse being on the Selection. You know they can stop shipping you the vials anytime, and then you'll get hit 10 times as hard as your average citizen, who's acclimated to the chems.

Some feedback:
A small thing - but it seems to me the "Shop" option appears at an odd place in the list. Given the (false) pride among JW's that they "don't ask for money", having 'Shop' positioned as the 1st user action (after home) conveys that the site is primarily about buying stuff, rather than learning. If positioned on the far right side of the list, the link appears demoted while having a technically more noticable position (like a contribution box next to the exit).
I'd use the order:
- Home (Consider replacing it with a small themed house icon - the user will understand it, but it'll highlight the other links more.)
- News
- Articles (If the site is about freeing one's mind, it would make sense that news & articles are the highlight.)
- People
- FAQ
- Get Involved
- Shop
- -
- If possible, implement an immediate search box on the far right of the gray bar, rather than linking to search on another page.
Of course, these are just suggestions.
